Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

What's the bar you have along the bottom mate, just loaded this and would like to add that oh have you got a link for the wallpaper.

A heads up. I was on the official JM1 and I've just been offered the official Froyo: PDA:JPO, Phone:JPP, CSC:JPO through Kies.

It's just finished so I'll report back soon.

What's the news

Been having a play for a few hours now and it seems very, very good.

It feels faster than JM1 with with the 1 click lag fix and I switched gps on, stepped outside and it locked onto 7 satellites with 10 seconds which is a huge improvement. I'll take a drive later and really give it a test.

I'm delighted!

What are peoples backup methods? I've got Titanium Backup for apps, Kies for contacts, Root Explorer for /efs folder stuff. Not sure about SMS, bookmarks and anything else, oh and angry birds save game data!
thing with Titanium and root explorer is they save to internal SD card and I wasn't to factory reset which wipes that.
Thanks for any help

You can actualy set Titanuim to backup to any folder you want, its in the settings>Backup folder name...

Mine is set to backup to /sd/Backup/Eclair/TitaniumBackup

This creates the following dir on the Ext SD card...
backup/Eclair/TitaniumBackup/...

Samsung UK The roll out of Android 2.2 Froyo for Galaxy S has begun today, as some of you will have already seen. As previously stated the roll out will be completed in the UK by the end of November. To get your handset ready for the upgrade please download the latest version of Kies from the support section on Samsung.com/uk, where you can also find a video in the ‘How-To-Guides’ on how to download Kies and install Android 2.2 Froyo. http://bit.ly/cfjJDa

I already flashed via Odin last week, but if you want to force the JPO firmware over Kies.

Using the next to latest Samsung Kies version 1.5.3.10093.82, not the latest as it's disabled the reg hacks.

I've uploaded it if you can't find it > http://www.multiupload.com/R16MNGKV4T

Open Regedit.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\4]
"HIDSWVER"="I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3"
"ProductCode"="GT-I9000HKDXEU"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\]
"LocalVer"="1.5.3.10103.100"

should I have backed up the /efs folder before I did voodoo lag fix?
I'd already backed up the ROM with ROM Manager.

:confused:

Always backup the /efs folder with a new SGS before you do anything, other than the first root as you have no choice. You only have to do it the once, keep a copy somewhere off the phone as well I would suggest.

/efs is where all the phone store all its identification data. IMEI, product code etc. If you loose the files or they get modified with a flash, which can happen you'll have a hell of a job sorting it out. Loose the IMEI and you're screwed.

oh crap.

How can I check, nothing is screwed.

I used this guide to back mine up

You guys got any recontamination for Micro SD cards I been looking at a ScanDisk 16gb class 2 all the reviews I have seen say it writes at 5-6mb/s rather than the class 2 its rated at, just need that a bit more room for private files :p.
