@ Jabbs try this themed one > http://www.multiupload.com/TJHM101TGB
After you install it go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Running > com.sec.android.app.twlauncher then force stop, clear data, and press home. Should clear the other cached icons.
A heads up. I was on the official JM1 and I've just been offered the official Froyo: PDA:JPO, Phone:JPP, CSC:JPO through Kies.
It's just finished so I'll report back soon.
What's the news
Samsung UK The roll out of Android 2.2 Froyo for Galaxy S has begun today, as some of you will have already seen. As previously stated the roll out will be completed in the UK by the end of November. To get your handset ready for the upgrade please download the latest version of Kies from the support section on Samsung.com/uk, where you can also find a video in the ‘How-To-Guides’ on how to download Kies and install Android 2.2 Froyo. http://bit.ly/cfjJDa
What are peoples backup methods? I've got Titanium Backup for apps, Kies for contacts, Root Explorer for /efs folder stuff. Not sure about SMS, bookmarks and anything else, oh and angry birds save game data!
thing with Titanium and root explorer is they save to internal SD card and I wasn't to factory reset which wipes that.
Thanks for any help
Always backup the /efs folder with a new SGS before you do anything, other than the first root as you have no choice. You only have to do it the once, keep a copy somewhere off the phone as well I would suggest.
Whats this.
/efs is where all the phone store all its identification data. IMEI, product code etc. If you loose the files or they get modified with a flash, which can happen you'll have a hell of a job sorting it out. Loose the IMEI and you're screwed.
Lol, you'd know because it wouldn't connect. Product code changes without you knowing though and is quite common. Can end up set to KOR which is a null code, so no Kies updates etc.oh crap.
How can I check, nothing is screwed.
