On the point of him apparently driving a DC2, I thought he was only a passenger in that too.

Could be wrong on that point but the others things popping up in this thread really are hilarious and quite damming evidence of how he is all keyboard and no Cojones!

Thanks for the clarification :)

I suspect he will now argue that he never actually said he drove it. Which of course he didnt, but the implication was there. I mean getting a lift in something isn't exactly the best way to decide if you want to buy it, especially for such a focused car.

Yes it was intentional, I never needed to drive one. I'm not a liar, but the intention was to shut you up on the subject.

I love how you've been through all the results and picked the worst result on a day I was unwell (Evident by the fact I did not have all my runs).

I thought the Focus was quicker than an M3 though

Please find me a quote where I've said that. Yet again, are your literacy skills that bad, or are you deliberately trying to twist things again?

The whole thing has just depressed me, the Porsche driver got a wooping off 2 mini's by the look of it too

Because autotesting is something that favours small, light, agile cars.

According to Hayley, he was only a passenger in the EK9 as well.

Saw that and I lol'd. Hard.

Getting day insurance was impossible, especially for a car with any modifications. I tried for the DC2 and couldn't when I was nearly 25, so along with Fox I can say for certain that whatever Mike says regarding this is most likely complete BS.

I kind of expected forum wars with all the Honda 'mass eve' but what we have is a person from the 'mass eve' coming over here and telling everyone he thinks Mike is doing what he does here all the time, be less than clear and then spend 15 pages trying to convince people he didn't mean something he blatently did..........usually using "show me where I said that".

Thread has legs, as you were men.

Seriously? You never needed to drive one? You are about to spend FIVE THOUSAND QUID on one. That kinda suggests you might need to drive one first to see if its any good, yea?

the intention was to shut you up on the subject.

That went well.

What like a Toyota Supra? Or various Audi's?

Why do so many people at these Isle of Wight events have the same surname? o_O

It must be hard driving with webbed hands, give him a break.

Go look at the sealed results, nearly all of them you will see consistent top runners: Minis, Caterhams, Elise, MX5 etc.

I supose you're a seasoned autotesting pro, then? As you're so happy to criticise me?

I think he's criticising you because you've spent so long on this forum trying to give off the impression that YOU are a seasoned autotesting pro with 'considerable' motor racing experience.

In reality it seems your experience amounts to turning up to 2 events in 4 years in the wrong car and coming last both times. I suspect you just go along to watch, perhaps your Dad is a seasoned pro, and were tempted to have a crack a couple of times. In true MikeHiow style, this made you the next Hamilton in your mind maybe?

I've never said anything of the sort.

I once said that I'd like to think I was a better/faster driver than your average Joe if nothing else, for my participation in autotesting. Not an unreasonable statement, seeing I regularly place around the middle.

So back to the Civics then, you are still happy to go ahead and buy a car you were until 4 days ago not even considering on your shortlist of the best sub £5k cars ever, without ever having driven one?

Yawn.

Yes I am, I might not even view it, but instead just have it transported down, and even pay the vendor in advance by posting him the cash.
