He's implying they are stupid through questioning. Come on, its pretty obvious. It is a loaded question at very best. He has preconceived ideas and it is clear what they are.

Many are somewhat "dumb" in the sense they are not well cultured, thats what happens when you rarely leave the country if at all your home state.
 
No, there are many people that are highly intelligent in America. Same as United Kingdom, only reason "they" seem dumb because it is that there are more idiots than Intelligence. :p

The intelligent ones hide a lot, mostly from jocks too.
 
It slightly worries me, that judging the OP, he/she appears to be using 3 people to form trends and correlations about a population of 300 000 000 people

There not all stupid but i think the way they vote is a result of all the propaganda which has been pumped out from WW2 all though the COLD war.

I don't think that it's quite a fair sample size somehow and while they may not all be people who you might agree with I'm not certain that you get to be President of the US without a certain amount of intelligence even if it doesn't always shine through in what they say or do.

Alternatively yes, they're hiding something - there's actually a race of super-chimpanzees controlling animatronic puppets who have led the US for the past century, George W. Bush was the one time where they let the designers got a bit too close to their real form and almost gave the game away, no PG Tips for them that night I can tell you.
