Are Americans Dumb

whats the name of the 'news reporters' at the end?

i found the BP one quite funny!

Just to clear things up this is done by the Chaser team.

They are An Australian Comedy group which pretty much hangs **** on every one.

They are the same guys that did this

New South Wales Police Minister David Campbell says he is extremely concerned that the ABC TV program The Chaser's War on Everything has taken APEC security so lightly.

Police have confirmed that 11 people are being questioned after being arrested at about 11.30 am AEST.

Three cars have also been seized, with officers investigating alleged breaches of the APEC security zone.

Eight cast and crew members and three hire car drivers are being questioned by police about the stunt.

The stunt involved driving a fake motorcade into the northern part of the CBD including Macquarie Street, with one of the crew dressed as Osama bin Laden.

Mr Campbell says the situation is not funny and is being treated seriously by the APEC Investigation Squad.

"This is an extremely serious issue," he said.

"The Government has made the point time and time again, that we've got the most serious, the biggest security operation in Australia's history.

"We've got 21 world leaders arriving in the city at the one time and it needs to be taken seriously."

Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer says the arrests show the APEC security system is working.

"Whatever you think of the humour of the Chaser, the honest truth is they were clearly not going to harm anybody in a physical way," he said.

"They presumably were, as is the nature of their show, aiming to humiliate a lot of well known people."

The program was further told that any perceived threat to security would be dealt with as a threat and their profile would not necessarily protect them.

Police say they are not embarrassed that the fake motorcade managed to get close to Mr Bush's Sydney hotel before it was stopped.

Assistant Police Commissioner Dave Owens says security measures have since been reviewed but he insists the incident proves that police tactics are working.

"I'm not embarrassed at all," he said.

"What I am is very angry that such a stunt like this would be pulled.

"We have 21 world leaders here, and whilst I enjoy like everyone else a good laugh, this isn't funny."

The nation has a huge amount of people which reside in it. This means that likely there are more 'stupid' people in the US than the UK. But I can bet that the percentages don't vary much.

Maybe one state might be more racist, or slightly more closed minded - but then the same in the UK - (though obviously towns / areas and not states).

Generally, I think the US are more competitive / louder than the UK in terms of their people (in general) but then the average British is very reserved and the stiff upper lip thing can be *extremely* annoying at times.

Bottom line is, no nation is perfect, they've had Bush, we've had Blair - meh. I was born and raised in the UK to English parents, but have a few American friends (one currently residing in the UK for the purposes of running his business). I've played with Americans online and Europeans and truthfully, I've come across just as many arrogrant / rude Europeans (especially in Counter Strike and WoW... maybe I'm just unlucky) as I have playing on XBox Live and PSN.

Everything is luck of the draw, and in the end end neither of our nations are close to perfect - there's issues on both sides. Perhaps we should stop focusing on what's wrong with others! :p

Sorry if this post makes about as much sense as dividing by zero, I'm operating on very little sleep here.

We had 3 yanks over for the week at work working a new project and we went out to a traditional pub one evening for a meal, quite a small country pub. Now I not sure how dumb these were but my my they were loud and boorish It was embarrassing to be seen sitting with them they had no sense of respect for fellow dinners eating there I was glad when we left.

Bearing in mind most people's opinions on Americans are based on Jerry Springer, the Simpsons and George Bush stupidisms, I'm not surprised.

If other countries only saw Jeremy Kyle, Big Brother, What Katie Did Next and the Daily Star, we would be the laughing stock of the world (if we aren't already).

Lots of people are dumb. Plenty are American. Plenty aren't.
