What quick instructions do you use when you go to Normal/Defensive?
 
Hitting a wall as to who to start with atm...

Loaded games since my West Ham debacle have seen me progress a total of one day :(

Not sure where to go, dont fancy England atm - im thinking Belgium ironically as that tackle spiced me into it, reminding of the old days when I watched Eurogoals on Eurosport with its shoddy presentation and commentary. Used to get some stupid spankings in that league, until Lierse randomly won the title one year and i was engrossed in watching their highlights.... also seeing the Mpenza's coming through at Mouscron iirc, a team that had come up from their 4th division in consecutive seasons or something silly.

Ive waffled, time to wiki the Belgian League see who needs bringing back to prominance (im assuming Club Brugge as ive not seen them in the Champions League for donkeys years now!)

I was playing as wolves, I sold jarvis for 6.5 mil to liverpool (how come i played liverpool and they had no money?) lol Got witsel for 4mil and tried to get Kadlec but they didnt accept any lower than 2mil but like i said chelsea trumped me at the 11th hour. I got Lukaku instead for 2.5mil but would much preffered Kadlec.

I've found that the game seems to freak out if you offer someone for virtually nothing, for a laugh I transfer listed Fernando Torres and then offered him to all clubs for £0 and not a single club made an offer, I thought that at least someone would be interested in Torres for nothing :)
 
OK, at last I'm going to be able to start playing tonight.
Was let down badly by the company I pre-ordered from.

Anyway, I shall be running on:

Core i7 950 (3.06GHz)
12GB RAM
SSD HD

With that in mind, to get an excellent overall experience but to also have a game that runs at a good speed...
What would the recommended leagues to run on such a machine?

If I was then also running on a laptop:

Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
4Gb RAM
Mechanical HD

What would you recommend for running leagues on this machine?

The game has a built in rating system when you start a game, just select some leagues and it will give you a star rating based on how fast it will run.
 
Started my second season in charge of Sunderland. Finished 4th last season, 4 points behind City. Beat Olympiakos to get to CL group stage. Forgotten who I've got ill post up when I get in.

Invested heavily in defenders, still got Craig Gordon in goal, got a lad in U18 who will hopefully turn into one of the best in a few years. Got in quite a few other youngsters who should turn great. So I plan on being in this job for the long run. Got Berbatov and Pienaar in as they were out of contract. :)

Will post up my team and these youngsters later tonight.

i just found a couple of gems!

Bogdan Stancu, striker, i got him for 2.5mil from Steaua. He played 21 games 16 goals 8 assists 7.71 av.r

Espen Ruud, D/MR, i got him for 3mil, he played as a rightback with 7.18 rating out of 20 games. Im going to try him at both rightback and right mid and see how he performs. He is recommended by scout to play rightback. Classed as a quality signing.
 
Ahh Stancu, he was an awesome signing in FM08 and earlier iirc?

I needed a right back to sign, but no funds...decided to have a look at players listed for £0...managed to grab Park and Smalling from Utd, as well as Naughton from Spurs for a grand total of £0. Bargain.

Signings have done so well so far, heres the ones that are basically first team/rotated:

Shawcross (41apps - 4gls - 2asst - 7.51)
Henderson (31apps - 4gls - 11asst - 7.19)
Lukaku (30apps - 10gls - 6asst - 7.03)
Obertan (27apps - 6gls - 5asst - 7.13)
Shevchenko (23apps - 11goals - 5asst - 7.21)
Camara (30apps - 5gls - 12asst - 7.23)

Next season I should be fine, and only signings i'll maybe do are either replacing oldies, or only players really that will be for prospects.

The odd thing is, I've been managing to draw/win against all the top teams, and i'm still 1st after 28 games..I don't have any idea how i'm doing it though, especially as I've lost to Bristol City! Arsenal, Utd and Spurs have all lost 6 times too.

There's always the odd player listed for £0. In my game the players listed for £0 were literally deadline day, Park's deal was so late I couldn't register him!

Babel/Jovanovic/Gago/Smalling/Park/Naughton are the biggest names I've had listed for £0, and can in a way understand them all, first 2 at a club sitting in reserves on high wages, Gago on huge wages, and always listed anyway, Smalling/Park again in reserves on wages, deadline day. Naughton was confusing though.
