Cheapest GPU that can run Call of Duty Black Ops at 1920x1080?

Are you ****ing kidding me

I use a GTX 460 768 MB and have been playing it maxed at 1080p ALL THIS TIME, no lag.

I even recorded some footage with fraps and it was perfectly playable for hours.

Seriously you won't need a GPU more expensive than mine, which would be about £120 now?

My son's PC > 4890 > don't now what his settings are but sat and watched for awhile ran ok, graphics looked really good. My other son has just gone to Asda to buy it for his ps3, he won't by it for his PC as all his m8's have PS3'S.

The Graphic'S diff between the PC and the PS3 is like night and day.....

+1

As in the other thread where I'm still waiting for an answer from Rroff, not sure what these supposed performance issues are cos I aint getting any, running 4890CF at 1920x1080 with most things maxed, only thing not is number of corpses which is left at small, vsync is on, it runs v smooth, no lag issues or anything, so not sure what some people must be doing with their set ups to get such bad results

Only thing I agree with is yeah its bit dissapointing its still DX9, but as you say the optimisations they use mean its still streets ahead of the console games, something the console die hards refuse to admit, not compared this (orMW2 actually) but compared original MW on my PC and mates PS3 and it was like he was playing a game from ten years ago, lol

Anyway, yeah I think a lot of people who have problems are having so cos of their personal set up and they prefer to just blame game rather than admit they havent got system set up right, I know thats going to annoy some but sry thats way I feel, only game Ive ever had issue with was Fallout3 when it first came out and I did have to wait for new drivers but other than that never had any issues what so ever, and yes I do appreciate the difference in quality settings and lag etc, before anyone accuses me of being blind, lol

To be honest the game is soooo full of bugs, however my superclocked EVGA GTX275 runs it with high settings no issues and they are cheap about £70 on the members market!

If you have the cash then splash out on a 6870 etc!

Another one saying this, no offence but what bugs? A few people keep saying its buggy/poorly coded/CF issues, then when I ask for example no one gives an answer??? What bugs? Cos I certainly havent encountered any on PC, I've heard of connection issues from mates with consoles but havent experienced a single problem with game on my PC

All I can say is you need more then a 8800gt :P

I should be getting a GTX 460 1gb later today so will post up some FPS if it helps :P

but this game isn't worth getting yet Imo, runs terribly. freezes for about 20 seconds for every 2 minutes or so, and when it isn't freezing its lagging badly and then silky smooth for about 30 seconds :/

I found the best results by manually adding BlackOps as a profile and setting the rendering mode to AFR2, it was dipping into the 40's previously, now it's averaging 90's (min 68), 1920x1080, all maxed.

I think it's fairly shocking that the quake 3 engine can be made to run so poorly, £40 for a day and a half's gameplay is incredibly disappointing.

Just played through a level of black ops with my new 6870 and benchmarked it with fraps. My average fps was 84 with max at 94. The minimum fps was 0 but this was down to checkpoints where the loading brings the game to a stand still for a split second. The overall gameplay was very smooth though even in heavy fire with bombs flying everywhere.

I used max in game settings with 4 x aa at 1920x1200 so i would say to anybody that a 6870 runs this game with ease.

It was like night and day coming from my 5770.

I havent played the game too much yet but i can run it np with my 8800 @ 1920 x 1200 not sure what the framerates are but there deffinatly above 40 and most of the settings are turned up. So i cant see you needing anything too expensive/power hungry if my rigs sitting here doing it on a 3 year old card.
