13.3" laptop please

seems the website where you get 2.5% off has taken payment but someone left a order comment saying statement required. a quick google came up with someone mentioning they wanted a bank statement before processing. thing is surely they wouldnt have taken payment yet... going to have to phone up and see what is going on... :(

Odd - was all very smooth for my purchase :( Hopefully an admin error, or similar, and quickly sorted in the morning :)

kevpuk sent you an email.

Or would some one else be able to send me a link to a Acer 3810TZG or 8371? My laptop has died and I need to order a new one tomorrow! I have ~£350 to splash out!

Thanks. :)

ok well sorta sorted this morning, i phoned up and she said basically her finance checks are saying they needed a statement with the address im at on it. so i was like what about if i had my girlfriend at the address do it, she said it may work etc. i was like nah cancel the order then please, then i got a phonecall 3 minutes later, oh whats that??? you want to give me the order now.. or really.. ****ers. i would assume the finance checks etc are checking on previous tenants of the flat as im pretty sure my finance has been good (i.e. no debt etc) and the money is in my bloody account!
thank god its being dispatched but what the heck are they playing at?
also they pre-authorise the payment with the bank before dispatch that is why the money already came out.

All sounds a bit leftfield - I mean, as you are paying up front, essentially, then why would any such additional checks be necessary ?
Perhaps it has something to do with their systems indicating a different registered address for the payment card to your shipping address ? This can sometimes occur, if one has moved and various updates have not fed through...many companies like to ship to the same address as the payment card is registered to for first orders......?

Or maybe none of that applies to you, and things just went a little awry (can happen) :p

im just glad its coming tbh. i think its because im not registered as a tenant at this flat :o cheeky i know but i was employed for a few months so what harm can it do. plus i didnt want to incur an extra bill (gf is a student) due to me studying to pass an exam to then find work.

edit: my card address is different to my current residence, i know this effects some companies but i wouldnt have thought a bank statement would be required, just a phonecall to confirm.

Sounds like a bit of a mix up to be honest lol. I changed the delivery for mine twice, once over the phone and they didnt say anything. I was quite shocked to be honest as none of the delivery addresses i stated were the same as my invoice address.

My 3810tzg is epic.

Ran on battery for a whole day at a conference from 9am till about 8.00pm going to standby only at lunch, tea and breaks. Did note taking in OpenOffice writer mainly, and I occasionally turned the wireless on to connect via wifi to my phone for web access.

At one point soon after switching it on it was reporting 11 hours left !!! :o

I reckon I got around a genuine 9 hours out of it and turned it off with 5% remaining (it was still saying 20 odd mins left)

Utterly EPIC!

Genuine full work day usage away from the mains. If you have WiFi on all day of course it may be less. Advertised 8 hours was easily surpassed in my case!

Have read a few reviews on these machines (widely similar) and often 'real-world' battery usage has been found to surpass the claimed ! Well done, Acer - very rarely this way round :p

Haha :D We need a new owners club thread just for this laptop. There will be thousands of us!

Who do 'company' use for delivery?
