***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

lol well when I purchased my xbox360 for Forza 3, I sat and had a ponder on other games for it... Settled on PGR4 again, already owned an xbox360 for this game and sold it a year before Forza3 came along...

So other then forza3 and PGR4 (which I'd already played to death) I had no other games I wanted for it, but still purchased it anyhow. So the fact you're buying a PS3 for not just one game but many games then yes a PS3 sounds a good choice for you..

Heck if I can spend £200 on a console for just one game, then doesn't sound too bad to me.

But I do agree with only 20% of cars having cockpit view. cockpit view is the view I use the most. Worse still, no bonnet cam? So looks like its track cam for me or cockpit.. Can't be doing with the chase views or roof views.. :(

But its still well over 200 cars that look like they should be on PS4 lol, its got more content than any other driving game TBH. Im only going to purchase Premium cars as a rule, used cars just for messing about with.

So does it still have a bumper cam like in Prologue (and almost all other games) where there is nothing on the screen at all apart from the HUD?

Bumper, roof and cockpit where applicable. Then obviously the chase cam(s) which nobody should use without getting hit by lightning.

I've never understood how anyone can race with the chase view. Its just so poor, each to their own I guess. Bumper cam or incar view for me.

And yes 200 plus cars with premium content is quite good, but have to remember - what was forza3.... 400 odd.

Anyhow, Aston DB9 is premium and that's my baby. Quite sad to read the Honda Accord (real life car) is standard but hey ho..!! Aston Martin is where its at for me. I'll warm my PS3 up ready and charge my PS3 pad up and plug my eye camera in and ready to race for hours and hours... Or until the gf complains whichever comes first... lol

Dunno, I find chase cam more realistic than bumped or incar. When driving in real life you can see all that area pretty easily using your mirrors as you can while in chase cam. When in cockpit it's an absolute pain to see whats next to you.

Trading F1 in at HMV and getting the game for £4.99 nent week.

Even though I feel the 'feature' list is a little false in that most of them have caveats and inconsistencies, e.g.
- The 200 premium cars having better damage/cockpit view etc
- Lack of real world tracks
- Night/day only on a handful of tracks
- Rain/Snow only on some tracks

For me, GT5 is still going to be 'epic'.. it's GT, that is, you get Kaz's vision, i.e. a very very broad (but slightly shallow) experience.. you just have to play GT as it's intended, which is, try all this broad list of events accross many disciplines and when all those headline features come together, you'll get an experience that will not be rivalled in this console generation (excepting GT6 of course)..

Everyone has their own feelings about GT, but I don't think anyone can deny it's a stunning game, just take it for what it is, not what it isn't..

Is this some sort of trade now and reserve a copy deal? Or do you have to do everything on the day?

Still keen on playing F1 2010 tbh, but don't have enough time to dedicate on both games so may sacrifice F1, for now.

I can't stand chase cam, I can't even stand to watch anyone else play in chase cam. Would you chase cam users prefer to drive a real car by remote control from a vehicle flowing it ;)
