Show Us Your Motors!

Ey I wanted something which suited my age a bit more, I'm guessing you must have got your bus pass driving a Volvo, eh? :p:o

its a cracking buy dont get me wrong.

But we all know what a reputation french cars have for going wrong, similar to volvos have a reputation for being boring :D

My mate got a clio for his wife - and sure enough it lives up the French reputation for dodgy electrics. The electric odometer occasionally just shuts off, the immobiliser wont cut out some mornings meaning the car wont start, and other random stuff. But for 2k who cars, just pocket some away to save for repairs.

That clio is a great buy for 3k, congrats, hope you enjoy it. They are fantastic cars and IMO still look spot on.

Also loving the Supra, shame its an auto, but I heard they autos arent too bad on them. I still dream of owning a late spec TT manual.

I completely agree with you, French cars are terrible, I always said I'd never buy one, but this was too good to miss, right on my door step and its a very very good example.

I'm already having an issue with a 'SERV' light (computer is coming back as abs speed sensors).

But I absolutly love it, its stupidly quick, really comfortable, and has all the toys!

and.. I was being obtuse by the way mrlol, I actually have a soft spot for quick volvos. :p

My new chariot, got it a few weeks ago now. Very much enjoying it after moving up from a 96 Polo.

Wow, that is an awesome colour on that Mk4

Didnt realise they did that colour, must be very rare?

It's pearlescent Jazz Blue as far as I know and it was a £400 option when new I think... There aren't many about I don't and it's quite popular and usually carries a small premium over the legions of silver and dark blue ones.

I read somewhere the other day that it's actually the same paint code as Nogaro but i've no idea how true that actually is.

It's the 150bhp 1.8T, Defcon (AUM engine, which has a slightly revised turbo I believe)

Jazz Blue is a nice colour, I nearly bought one in that colour but missed out when I went back to do the deal to someone else 15 mins earlier! So I got snot green instead :D

AUM = loads more sensors to go wrong but ko3s turbo which will reach 200-210BHP from just a remap. And they're pretty potent then, FAR different than standard :)

No sarcasm - it genuinelly is a great colour. Always loved colours like that, hence Amparo Blue being my favourite Ford colour and Estoril Blue being my favourite BMW colour :)

I'm sure I've seen it before a fair bit, but on lower spec cars with black plastics and flatter looking paintwork than that.

My Bora S was Jazz Blue, which was originally a dealer demonstrator. It's an awesome sight when clean and polished up. Very different to the legions of silver and black cars that are around.

When I traded it in the cheeky b*stard at the Skoda dealer attempted to convince me it wasn't pearlescent and knock some money off until I made him call the local VW Dealer with the paint code.
