Looks like you must have been suckered by advertising or something because if you look at the facts and see the performance difference between the two cards and STILL make a comment like "except for the fact that the card has 50% more ROP units as well" then it doesnt say much does it, especially if it has 50% more ROP units and can only muster up 5-15% more fps.![]()
1GB would probably not devalue as much 2nd hand as the 768mb. That is to say, wouldn't lose as much of its value when you come to sell it on.
That is certainly one reason I opted for the 1gb model.
I'd say that's debatable, when it comes to devaluation of gfx cards similar models tend to slowly approach roughly the same value. For example take the 8800GTS, the 512MB model is blatantly better than the 320MB model (faster and more VRAM) yet secondhand prices are extremely close.
What are you on about? I've just pointed that there are more differences than just the memory size:
- 50% more ROP units
- 256MB more VRAM (helps a lot at higher resolutions than 1920x1200 or when more AA is applied)
- overclocks better
I don't care what fps difference you think it gives, there are plenty of reviews out there and I don't have enough time to prove that it makes a difference (whereas if it was 768MB vs 1024MB only, it wouldn't matter that much).
Yes, except for the fact that the card has 50% more ROP units as wellIt does overclock better too.
I don't care what differences you point out either, but I dont get upset about it LOL.![]()
50% more?
The 1GB has 32 ROPs whereas the 768mb model has 24 ROPS.
I take it you mean 33% not 50% (using the 768mb model as the base).
