*****Ultimate Football Manager 11*****

Wigan beat my Accrington team 2-0 in the Championship Play-Off Final Which means I've failed at getting promoted for the first time in my FM2011 Career, Time to mastermind another Championship season, Finished 2nd, Leeds were unstoppable at the Top, Although I beat then 4-0 at Elland Road..

How do people manage to get Kadlec to their Championship club? He never wants to discuss terms?

i suppose it depends on who you are. i pciked him up at Burnley in the game i've just started, but i had to offer him something ridiculous like £20,000 pw just to make sure i beat off the other competition.

Just finished my first season with Wolves

Went 13 games without a win fron November to January, early exits in both cups and an 8-1 thrashing by Man Utd.

In and outs:

I always sign Garrry breen which ever club I am :D

Got robbed with Butland, but Chamberlain looks like he's going to come good. Scored the equalizer on his debut against Man City. Mendy wasn't too well thought out, hopefully he's worth it though.

My team looked like this:

Made a healthy profit over the season too, which is always a bonus.

Struggling to sign players in the summer now. Bought Mujangi Bia permament, Couldn't get Manciennce to come back on loan or permanent. So many players are choosing other clubs over me or not even interested. Hangeland is transfer listed at Fulham, but wasn't interested in a move to me. Wilshere transfer listed at Arsenal too for 5.5mil, he's not interested either. Couldn't afford to match David Bentley's wage demands after he was transfer listed at Tottenham for a couple of mil. 13mil to spend and all I have so far is Diego Polenta on a free and Galvan on loan with an agreed price of 1.8mil. Need to do something with my back line, last season Wolves scored the joint 4th highest goals and conceded the joint 2nd most goals.

Well I tried with Burnley, Boro and Leeds, every time he says he's not interested in starting negotiations? I don't even get chance to offer a stupid offer?

What is it with players sacking their agents??? I've had about 8 of my first team players sack their agents and I'm not even at Christmas of the first season!
Another thing, is there anyway to stop getting the messages about agents offering free transfer players?

This is very strange, i use the game with commentary only just so i get through games a lot faster plus i dont need to see my team score aslong as im winning :p. Ive only played as wolves so far only problems im having is winning a lot of things but not becoming world class and impossible to make money from other areas instead of just attendance's and cups. What team did you get promoted with? if it was portsmouth they are not going to give you any money to spend.

They doubled my wage bill and gave me almost £20 million to spend, they just didn't do it until the 25th June, almost a month after the transfer window opened. That appears to be the date that the game has decided to use to switch between one season and the next.

Another annoyance I've noticed in my second season is that the game forgets your team instructions when you change them before a game and defaults back to the last one used in a game. I didn't notice in my first year as I used the same tactics all the time, but I change quite a lot in the prem and it is a bit odd. The whole tactics selection part of the UI is very poorly designed to be honest.

How did Rivaldo do for you and what position did you play him in?

He actually made it into the Wolves team of the year. Average rating of 7.20 over 20 games.

Played him either as a striker (support) in a 4-4-2 or as an attacking midfielder when pushing for a goal with 2 forwards infront of him, or with 1 striker.

He also took my penalties, corners, free kicks and was set to shoot from long distance often. Probably didn't make the most of him, but I'm still trying to sort out my tactics. Don't really think he'll make many appearances in my second season though.

Very useful as a tutor though

that's pretty strange - i picked him up for about £1.2mn with Burnley. It could have something to do with who else has shown an interest in him maybe?

Cheers mate.

I've yet to play the game properly, but have decided when I do to go to a team with decent prospects to which I have no emotional attachement - hence Middlesboro!

I'm looking at bringing in Rivaldo, into a 4-4-2 and may even look to put him out wide.

Watch this space lol.

When you get offered a player, bottom right there is a filter button you can press and then you can select who you want to be offered.

I'm kind of at the end of my tether with this game, I just don't get any consistency with any of my teams. I decided to go for an easier game for once and I chose Arsenal, surely I couldn't fail with them! I got the match preparation blue bars to full with my tactics, yet I lose to Spurs at home opening game of the season, lose to 'Pool away after being 2-0 up, draw with Birmingham, lose to West Ham.
I don't know if it's the team talks or how I speak to the media but it's ridiculous!

The game "new season" always starts around 20th of June in England. This is when you get the "end of season review", and your performance is assessed and you get new expectations from your board as well as your new wage and transfer budget. You also get your youth players come through.

The transfer window opens two weeks later on the 1st of July.

Finding the game a little too easy so far.

What formation are you playing with Arsenal? When you watch the games, is there any pattern as to how you're typically losing?

I like to play a counter attacking 4-3-3, and because the team is typically underdogs, using 'Wish Luck' seems the best shout.
I think if you're expected to win (or are favourites in the betting odds), 'For the Fans' is better.

Well I seem to always go 1-0 up then concede and either draw lose. Birmingham at home I smashed them yet drew 1-1, Liverpool away was similar scenario and Spurs.

I use 41221, a DM, 2 CM's, AML and AMR and one up front. Or 4312. I downloaded them both after they've been successful on forums.

Do media talking and team talks have a bigger affect than I'm imagining? I always try and build confidence to a max but to no avail. Should I say we're rubbish after games instead??

It sounds like you're conceding silly goals which could mean a few things. In my experience it would normally be through set pieces if you're conceding odd goals that are affecting matches - make sure you firstly have enough players back when defending set pieces (only leave one or two up the other end) and secondly I'd imagine most of arsenal's players don't have high 'Jumping' stat?

You might want to think about toughening the team up a little with some players with Jumping 16+ and Strength 16+ - typically you need this at centre back and one in midfield. Mental stats like decisions and anticipation help as well but adding some physicality to your team I think might help.
