Who will ditch 580 for 6900

I really can't see people ditching their brand new GTX 580 for a 69** card. Unless the 580 gets absolutely annihilated by the ATi cards it would seem a pretty pointless side-grade (perhaps slight upgrade?) to me.

I won't either way but as coupe said, what's the point? It's going to have to be a considerable performance bump to make it worthwhile.

Tell that to the people who ditched 480s for 485s :p

Raven with a change of sig to boot.
The thing is that ther isn't any games out there that would need a new gpu, so im out.
Even with a 5850 theres no need.

well ATI drivers suck the poodles privates even if the 6900 is more powerfull in real life uses ive found you need use different drivers to get the best out of different games with ATI,

I think ati need start fresh with thier drivers and forget the older cards have a new set of drivers , i personally wont be buy ati ever again, and yes people with ATI will prolly wanna flame me but hey im speaking from experiance

im not saying they cant make fast cards they just dont make the drivers to back them up

Sounds like an individual problem with your setup, no problems with ATI drivers here with my 5870 for the last 14 months

I had similar issues coming from nvidia to a 5870, now I am back with nvidia and the overall picture quality is better and I have less driver issues with games. I even had crossfire at one point and that truly sucked especially with the battlefield bad company 2 game... Which I loved

Had enough of ATI drivers with 5870 and then 5870 xfire so i'm going green at christmas when hopefully the 69** will have knocked the 580 into sub £350 territory ;)

Are ATI/AMD drivers that bad ? when i first went to Xfire i had a nightmare getting them running but that could have been part me part drivers.

What i do find strange is how 10.4,10.5 and 10.9 work well for me yet other drivers for me seem to be a backward step ? you would think they would all work fine.

ATI/AMD have a new driver set once a month so how many drivers come out for Nvidia cards a year ?

Well used to be once a month now we have 10.10 a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h, LOL

+1

If it does indeed turn out to be ahead, it wont be by anything worthwhile. Only reason to swap would be ego.
