***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

 how long did this take you.

The question should be, how much blood, sweat and rage tears were shed? And how many DFP wheels did I go through? :D

Quite a few hours. Getting rather stressed at it but feel so great when I finally crack it. Some of the times are just right on the edge!

Got this today and so far loving it (bar the awful loading times in menus?). Just bought an Rx-7 and upgraded a few bits and bobs and it drifts so well :D

Only way to avoid the long menu times at present is to disconnect your PS3 from the Internet (So it can't communicate with the GT5 online servers to get community updates etc which it does every menu change!).

Thinking of buying a premium car now to develop. I don't have too much money, and not sure how much of an issue money will be so want to be frugal.

What are people's thoughts on the Lotus Evora '09? I used it in License A-5 and thought it slid around corners perfectly. Is this a good buy at 100k?

I have the same dilemma, I'd hate to spend a lot of cash only to find out the car is crap.

Do you know if it is possible to disable autosave, buy a car, testdrive it and then decide?

Ah ok cheers, might do that then. I'm getting too absorbed in photo mode for my own good atm!

Can't see any options to disable the AutoSave, and the save is copy protected, so I think I will just have to buy it and take the risk :(

Just read and it's probably old news anyway that an update for GT5 is coming tomorrow to regulate the online games ie Max Power, Weight etc. also they're doubling the online user connections to 1,000,000 up from 500,000 why they choose such a low number in the first place is surprising.

Oh but it is, you can beat the lead car on the last straight exiting the final corner.

The key to success in this test is good use of drafting, very smooth cornering and no mistakes.

Wait until you try golding IC10, it's a similar concept, but you're driving a 512BB which is a lot more fun to drive.

You're right.

I did it this morning about 5 mins after I posted that.

It is nuts how gung-ho you have to be compared to the other cars. That is what is so infuriating. The rest of the pack are so slow it screws up your overtakes and then they can out burn you on an exit

You won't go far wrong with a s2000 and soft sports tyres, Quite a good car.
If you haven't done many of the challenges then just buy what ever as you get silly money for those. I think it will be much the same as all GT's and there will be one race that is quite easy won and gives good money. Yet to find it lol. But it will be there somewhere.

Anyone know which cars are able to have the Racing Modifications? So far I've only seen it available on the Impreza / Lancer and a Camaro, anybody know where there's a list or something?

:)

The lotus seemed a good car but i will be doing the same thing i have done with every GT game so far and that is buy a new skyline and then mod the crap out of it :p:D i think it was GT4 i had one with something silly like 800 BHP  but with suspension mods and racing tyres also .

I did it with the 90k Dodge Viper, still got the final engine upgrade to do as well as a few other bits, and it's an absolute monster!

Unfortunately it made the GT World Championship Pro race series far too easy :(
