*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I want gingerbread :(

I have some in the cupboard if you're interested? :D when are people expecting we'll see it?

Rooting isn't the process it used to be :p When I rooted my Desire and partitioned (on like the 2nd day of ownership, LIKE A BOSS!) Stuff had to be done via ADB in command line but now you just click a button and BAM! it's done.

Still all good though :)

I read some of the old guides on how to root, it actually almost made my face melt. I've just backed up my apps and data with titanium, but I didn't perform a full wipe and factory reset when I installed LeeDroid, would you recommend doing this?

If you don't have issues then you can carry on but personally I always wipe ext as well on a new rom install (not ROM upgrades though!).

Always keep a backup of the SD card on your pc :-)

Nandroid backups via Rom manager or amonra are stored on SD anyway so having a SD backup on pc ensure data and OS safety :-D

Guys

Some advice pls. I rooted and put Leedroid A2SD+ on but didnt sort the card with an EXT partition. So A2SD isnt working I assume. I have a 16gb card arriving shortly and will split it 1gb EXT3 and 15gb FAT but am assuming I need to wipe and reinstall Leedroid to avoid confusion with old installs etc. Seems sensible precaution and I am happy to reinstall apps etc.

Q: I guess I need to put Leedroid.zip (only?) on SD in FAT partition but is my Clockwork recovery installed on the actual phone mem? And how do I use it?

Thanks for helpful answers. I'd rather not let my son pwn me on another piece of tech so you help will be appreciated!

Got my phone back and finally got to try Oxygen out. Nice and light and quick, all that jazz. Just what's the simple way to remove the skin? I like stock Android...

Skin? Install the non HTC version of oxygen :p

You can partition the card without wiping, just backup the SD to PC first and move stuff back after partitioning.

When you boot up apps will move over to the EXT via the Apps2SD script built into the ROM. There's no need to manually move anything.

Do a wipe only if you have problems.

Clockwork recovery is the update.zip on your fat partition (sd card root), this is all rom manager uses.

Unless you mean clockwork that flashed via unrevoked so it loads every time you use voldown+power? In which case it's stored on the phone permanently in a separate area.

Ok, im about to try leedroid, want to have sense again. Ive got the latest leedroid rom, do i require a radio zip aswell, if so which one. I thankyou :D also, if i format the sd card, and partition it for apps2sd+, clockwork will still boot ?

Just the latest radio, leedroid thread links to suitable radio iirc. You should always have latest radio anyway though!...

The other question is answered above.

im being a doffus, i cant see how to get a radio off leedroid, or know which one to pick :( or how to download it. edit ....ok my brain got into gear, i got the radio file

It's possible the stock one has black now based on request! - Black is better anyway for visual appeal and battery life but the white one can be used via the theme kitchen easily:

Woop, finally got my phone back after 3 weeks. It's going fine, no restarts yet and I've been using it quite extensively.

Seems to be my old screen with all new internals \o/ great result as I get to keep my AMOLED screen :)

Soooooo..... what's new since I've been away lol, what's the easiest way to root? My HBOOT version is now 0.93

I've had a similar problem to you and unrooted my phone for a return but the restarts seemed to have stopped. Now i'm not sure if I should return the phone or not as the problem isn't there anymore!
