*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

You can partition the card without wiping, just backup the SD to PC first and move stuff back after partitioning.

When you boot up apps will move over to the EXT via the Apps2SD script built into the ROM. There's no need to manually move anything.

Thanks. I found it was even easier. Removed SDcard and plugged into PC. Acronis Disk Director, resized 4gb to 3gb and inserted a 1gb EXT3 partition. I assume A2SD+ is working as my phone memory free stays at 115mb whatever I seem to do. Sorted!

And I can clone the card to my bigger card in a few days when it arrives :D

Ah nice!,

Also worth checking out ES File.Explorer. as it supports tabbed file.management for system, sd, ftp, lan (wifi) and bluetooth.

It's truly.magnificent!

Installed Cyanogen 6.1 RC2 last night. I've been through about every rom available but always found the Sense based roms more stable. Shame as I like almost everything about Cyanogen / Defrost / OD etc....hoping this will remain on my phone a bit longer than the rest:p

Applied the N1 table for a bit more space and using Zeam as my launcher (never even knew it existed until I tried Oxygen!) - seems very nippy and no problems so far:)

I read about the N1 table but never really looked much into it, does it make that much of a difference?

I am s-off only at the moment.

I'd say it's worth doing for the extra ~50MB if S-OFF and using a compatible ROM. I tend to install way too many apps so anything that gives me a bit more space to play with is all good!

If you switch ROMs though you'll need to reflash a hboot again no? According to Alpharev they have a few different versions depending on the ROM you have:

Do you use Apps2SD+ as well? I have an EXT4 so probably why I never looked into the N1Table patches :p

If going from the likes of Cyanogen to Sense then aye. Pretty sure I needed to use Bravo Stock 1.5 for the last couple of Sense ROMs I sampled. Confused the hell out out of me to begin with as I was positive I'd applied the stock table, but turned out it was the Bravo Sense one. 180MB system partition wasn't enough :/

Easy enough to switch between them tho.

Yeah if space is limited I do, but I try to keep all programs on the phone. Not sure why to be honest, think I might have read something about SD card corruption somewhere along the line and got it into my head that EVERYTHING must fit on my phones memory:p

Yeah seems for Sense ROMs (leedroid, for example) it would have to be Bravo 1.5 img because the system file is 219MB :o

I'm going to try out CM 6.1 RC2 (after flashing the Bravo N1Table HBOOT patch) it's the only ROM I have not tried yet!

Hope you like it! I usually stick with a non Sense ROM for about 3 or 4 days until something (random crashes, bugs, battery life etc) pushes me back to Sense.

Came from AuraxTSense which was serving me well, but fingers crossed CM won't let me down. It better not as I was too lazy to do a backup before flashing:o

I realise my S-OFF might have been out of date too, I was on one of the earlier releases, so flashing that then doing the N1 patch - Looking forward to those tweaks and features that DeFrost/Oxygen didn't put in too!

I'm overly impressed with the unlock screen shortcuts to phone / messages a la MIUI. It's the wee touches like that I appreciate!

I think Oxygen could be one to look out for in the future when it matures a bit, but wasn't overly impressed when I tried it out.

I'll post screenshots in a bit :p

Edit*

Maybe not!

I flash CM 6.1 RC2 and it flashed fine but none of the Google apps were there (Market, mail etc) and on top of that when adding my gmail account it asked for server details too and failed to connect.

And then....I rebooted and it said my SD card was empty and had an invalid file system!

So I have repartitioned it and am restoring Leedroid.

I think I will just stick with Leedroid and await 2.2g which should have awesomewin features :p

Yeah the lack of google apps is a bit of a pain when it comes to the CM releases - can get them from their homepage if you are giving it another go at some point.

Could you clarify, the only reason I am currently not going back to sense is because I hate the sense lockscreen.

I am fed up with defrost, because no matter what I do the notification bar power widgets always bug out.

Here's the lockscreen with shortcuts to messages and phone:

My main screen using Zeam rather than the supplied launcher and Launch-X pro so I can have all my main apps on the one screen.

Edit - I should say you can disable the shortcuts to messages / phones if you prefer it looking like stock.

I think for the time being I will stick with leedroid although maybe I will try it later.

Launcher Pro user here too so launcher at stock is a non issue.

I have that one. The desire is smaller than the slot it sits in so it's a bit loose in the stand without a case. It sits in fine but I wouldn't want to knock it when it's in.

Thanks for the reply

I better look for a non case dock then as I don't use it much when at home and can see myself doing some damage :p

What docks are people using here?

My one was a few quid on ebay and is easily modded so a cased desire fits into it as shown here:

I've had a similar problem to you and unrooted my phone for a return but the restarts seemed to have stopped. Now i'm not sure if I should return the phone or not as the problem isn't there anymore!

The sure fire way I found to make it repeat the problem was to enable navigation and play angry birds for 10 minutes. It happened when rooted or not.

I'm still unsure whether i can be bothered to root again, I don't even know what I was gaining by doing it. Battery life is probably the main advantage but I charge it most nights anyway.
