Why would you cancel the 580's when your getting them for the same price as a 570 LoL :) i would wait and see if they even come it's looking less likely imo.

Does this mean the GTX 580 doesn't overclock as well as the 480?
Or are you comparing overclocked 480 to a stock 580? If that's the case couldn't you overclock the 580 to better than 580 performance?

Does not bother me if you overclock a 580 or not, I'm overclocking my 480 to match a new higher performing card, anyone with a 480 should just hold out for kepler as the performance from a 480 to a 580 is not worth the loss in selling the 480 and the extra cost in getting a 580.
 
Will be interesting to see what sort of price theese launch at, not that ill be opting for one, as my 470's should last me a good while yet.
 
Should be a great card so long as NVidia do not skimp too much on the cooler and allow a decent level of GPU voltage adjustment. £250 would be a nice price.
 
For some reason I thought, meh, it will be around 480gtx performance, but then realised its got 470gtx specs with more clock speed and shaders, as in, its still got the reduced bus and memory size, which will limit its bandwidth, though not a lot. How much bandwidth does a stock 480gtx have, the 570gtx has higher mem speed, slightly, but not sure which ends up with more bandwidth.

If it comes anywhere near 470gtx EOL pricing, it would be a great card, assuming it hits early 470gtx pricing, its a non starter of a card.

Why exactly would you see those specs and assume it can do well over 900Mhz on the core? Won't 2x 6pin pci-e power connectors make it very hard to push the same power/overclocks as a 580gtx would?

EDIT:_ 177gb/s bandwidth on a 480gtx, 152gb/s on these, so same shaders, 5% clock bump, around 15% less bandwidth. Will be interesting to see if some games show a drop in performance and some show an increase depending on their bandwidth hogging nature, but it will likely cost it at higher resolution/aa settings. EOL 480gtx's might be the better choice as the last ones crash in price, over a 570gtx with reduced bus.

What about the noise? that alone will make the 570 a better choice

and i doubt the reduced bus will make that much difference imo maybe 5fps

and you should be able to overclock it to 4Ghz to make up any difference

True 2x 6-pin will be a bit of an issue - I was assuming it was 1x 8, 1x 6 for some reason.
 
I was a bit worried a while back myself about running sli 470's on an 850w psu, nice to see that dual 580's arent that much more demanding.
