Pelting cars with snow balls

I'll admit I used to do this 15+ years ago. And when any of my friends went to France on holiday they would return with 3 or 4 carrier bags full of extremely powerful bangers. We'd throw those at cars in the summer.

Had a few drivers stop and try to catch us but we never got caught, mainly because we would wear camouflage and balaclavas!! lol. This was out in the countryside btw.

Oh, that makes it alright then.

If a snowball hit my windscreen i'd lol and then turn my wipers on?

These snowballs weren't going to smash anything. It was fresh snow, they were just young kids having a laugh. They weren't throwing icebergs.

Quote from todays paper :

"Youths smash car window in snowball attack......

A care worker has had her car window smashed after youths attacked her vehicle with snowballs.

The incident happened on Monday evening on the Lecky Road.

Sinn Fein councillor Kevin Campbell said another care worker had also had her car attacked with snowballs.

"These snowballs, they're crushing them down like ice and it's like stoning a car."

"These care workers provide a vital service for our community and here we have a care worker who now has to get her car fixed and is obviously badly shaken.

"The whole community has a responsibility to explain to these people that this is totally and utterly wrong."

Snow = fun when you're a kid. Many adults forget this and also forget what they were like when they were kids. Reading this thread, it apeears a lot of folk have led a very sheltered childhood perhaps wrapped up in cotton wool?

I don't for one minute condone throwing stones/breeze blocks etc at vehicles but snow, especially in its current 'fluffy' state 999999/1000000 is not going to cause any problems. If drivers are so nervous or incapable then they shouldn't be driving in snowy/icy conditions the first place.

...and how many snowballs have been thrown at vehicles in the past 48hours? Jeez, talking about blowing things all out of proportion. It's 'news' like this that gets conkers banned from playgrounds, kids no longer to have a snowball fight etc. With all of the playing fields going/gone, the OTT H&S laws, lack of 'youth clubs', kids are slowly losing their ability to have fun outside. The moment they do have fun and a few get carried away we start moaning. Hypocrisy?

Oncee...

i made a 4 foot snow ball at the top of a hill.

the bottom of the hill was a busy road..

I pushed the ball... and never looked back.

I wonder what happend :? The next day there were a broken bumper at the side of the road :D

It depends how it's done really. When I was younger, my mum was driving the car and suddenly a huge snowball hit the windscreen (completely out of nowhere) and she panicked and slammed on the brakes - was very dangerous. Turned out there were some chavs hiding and doing it to every car that passed.

My mum died in a similar accident. They never caught the murderer :(

....drive to the conditions of the road. Thunderous snow mountains hurtling down the hillside included :).

When snow hits the ground it's every man, woman and child for themselves and any moving object is fair game. :D
