Nice moment today...ATM related

Nice to know there are still people out there that do this kind of thing :)

If you had left it long enough it would have sucked it back in and credited it back to their account.

None the less, well done. :)

I really don't understand how people can leave before they get their money? o.0

In some countries, the machines work the other way around - ie: cash first then card. When they get the card, some foreigners assume it's broken and walk away.

While walking in Brighton during the summer, a group of rowdy drunks were arguing in the street, it looked a bit like they may come to blows. As they passed me, I noticed a some paper on the ground a little bit further up the road. On closer inspection, it was a small stack of ten pound notes. I picked them up and went after the drunks. I called to them a few times but was ignored. They started fighting so I left. When I got home, I had an extra £70 which was really handy at the time as I was skint.

Also did you mean a Cashpoint? We dont have ATMs in this country.

Always better to be honest as my wife always says 'what goes around comes around'. Nice one.

I work in retail and one of my work colleagues found a black handbag abandoned in the store. We took it to the office in the hope of finding some identification; all we found inside were carrier bags stuffed with random amounts of cash, a few quid short of £2k and a letter with a name & address.

After work we took the bag round to the house, a middle-aged lady answered the door and we asked "Just wondering if you'd lost a bag in our store today?".
Her reply? Well, after a few grunts of "erm, uh, yeah" and getting her to confirm her name and bag contents, we handed it over to her and.....

....she shut the door on us.:mad:

Well done for not stealing. :)

The thing you should be happy about is losing your place in the queue and giving the money back to the people.

nice one OP , i would have done the same like many others , as i think if i pocketed the cash i know i would have a feeling of guilt for a long long time.

which is better guilt or a feel good factor i know what i would choose.

Well done

I did the exact same thing, it was some old people, american i think, big wad of money popped out after they left the machine, i ran over to them gave it back ....

Well done OP fir doing the right thing :)

I do wish karma would stop being such a PITA towards me. Doing the right thing always results in adverse effects for me.

Had one recently like that. Went outside for the morning smoke and noticed someone's phone face down on the steps. Closer inspection revealed it was an iPhone 4 (just a couple of weeks after they came out). Looked through the contacts and located a suitable number to contact. Turned out it was a lady's phone who lived 2 floors above me. She was over the moon to get her very expensive phone back, not too pleased however about the screen damage. No way of avoiding that when you drop it face down on to concrete in the rain over night :o

was probably a scammer, and he thought he was rumbled so left, congrats on chasing him down and passing on the stolen money, was prob some old grandmothers xmas money to buy presents for some poor little orphans
