***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Is there anywhere a list has been put up that tells you what cars you win in a given event? I remember one for GT3 and it saved me from buying cars that I would win anyway :)

Erm.... is it a bug that my recently purchased 106 (:D) doesn't have an in-car view

For a game trumped as being the driving simulator, and in development for ages, it seems a bit cheap to just cut that view from this/other cars....

Standard cars don't have the in-car view.

But I was racing with random people last night...... :|

And? there is about 50 rooms open at most times with 2 or 3 people in them, we all know you have nothing bad to say about GT5 but face up to the reality of it at least. It's very quiet online for such a massive game on the PS3, how you can say otherwise makes me think you have not even been online.

Instead of deny things you should be asking when they are going to add to the online play, matchmaking, fixed events, dedicated servers, XP, money, tournaments, leaderboards, all basic functions that near enough every online racer has these days.

What are you on about. I give credit where credit is due. I'm not afraid to point out this games bad points.

Fact of the matter is that I was playing online with a number on random players last night. Would you rather I lied and said "I couldnt find one session to join last night"?

As for matchmaking and/or leaderboard, I have highlighted this a number of times within this very thread. So I think you had best settle down!

Leveling up the Driver
Even a novice driver who isn't able to win races in the beginning will improve as they keep participating in races, gaining better driving skills. However once past their peak, their abilities will start to decline, and at some point in time you will have to retire the driver.

seems rather interesting especially after watching my b spec driver do so badly in the sunday cup

And what does playing with randoms have to do with how quiet the MP is? not a lot as I said many rooms, very little people in them. That's how it is and you have to wonder why for such a big selling game, probably because it lacks features and just seems added on as a afterthought.

I think many players (myself included) have just dived into getting through the career and more cars. Im about half way through the third tier and tbh i just totally forget about mp when im playing.

Agreed. When I can gain exp and cash for online then I'll probably live on there :p

Is it just me or is there NO file management? I wanted to buy a car earlier, but wasn't sure how high I'd be able to get its BHP. I used the save button on the home screen, went in and bought it, went to tune it and realised it wasn't going to get as powerful as I would like.

Back out on the home screen, looking through the menus, going through options and there is NO OPTION to recall an old save. There is no library of game saves. And there is no option to turn off the autosave feature.

So now I'm stuck with this car and down 900,000. It seems stupid that I should have to check the internet before buying a car just to see what modifications can be made to it.

Surely the lack of file management is a mistake? Or am I blind..

Its coming. :)

Just spent a cool 1.5 million on a german touring car. I feel sick now :(

Pah ! that's NOTHING

I just spent over 400k on the wrong ******' Lexus IS-F '07

And I still have to buy the 750k Lexus IS-F '08 to complete the German Touring Car races !

Over a million gone and I haven't turned a wheel tonight

No, it's just another annoying 'feature' of the finished game that Kaz claimed was released to market.

I hope there will be a patch for that, too.

Did that one last night, the prize money and prize cars just don't fit with the time you have to put in!

Took about 2hours 20 minutes ish using a decent race car. Think I used the Zonda R and just one driver. It pretty much does everything for you, even goes into the pit when he really needs to. So I just kept and eye on it every 45 minutes or so. Currently doing the 4 hour MX-5 one at the moment. Slightly harder due to the limited car, but with a rear wing and 200+ BHP he is just flying round.
