That depends. Is it a Corsa? if so it'll fail anyway.
Just don't say to the tester, "There's nothing wrong with it so it should pass" or words to that effect. I hate it when people say that (unless they have good mechanical knowledge and look after their car) it then puts me on a mission determined to fail the car.
You're better off to say its just an old car for running to your work, and never ever tell a tester your about to sell the car, can make a pass with advisories into a fail very easily.
Citroen C2 05 plate. I decided not to clean it or sort the hubs out, only thing they mentioned was that the headlights were facing too low so they raised them abit and it passed with no advisories.

As a treat to her for being so cheap today, she got some new shiny hubs and had a nice bath to make her all shiny and clean and for christmas she's getting 6 months road tax

The car was so dirty I couldn't find it at first, just about managed to read the number plate though.
