Single player wise the game I spent most time on this year was prob FF13 which just missed the cut Heavy Rain was 2nd most played so that gets my vote.

I really doubt many people have played all the games on the list let alone a niche game like Demon's Souls.

I feel bad, i tossed a coin between Heavy Rain and Demon's Souls and it came out Heavy Rain. On reflection i feel Demon's might have been more deserving, oh well.

Damn only 4 votes for Demons Souls, this is the problem with GOTY awards, and most awards in general, its not about quality its about popularity.

not too fussed about ME2 being in first though its still a great game in its own right.

Mass Effect 2 all the way!

Out of all those games, even though I'm enjoying black op's, I wouldn't count it mainly because for the sheer amount of s*** is in it, badly made game.

Mass Effect 2 wins hands down for me as it was the most engrossing game I've played this year and loved it. I didn't really complete mass effect 1 but then I suddenly got into and loved it, after completing it 4-5 times I couldn't wait for 2.

I know what next years will be as well, Dead Space 2 .
