*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Right lets post this in the correct thread... Just accidentally put it in essential android apps.

Ok so I'm bored tonight so want to do some playing about with roms etc... etc... Now there is so much new stuff that I don't know about I don't know what order to do them all in.

I want AmonRA recovery (currently clockwork)
Partion for apps to go on SD
N1Tables, data++ ? (these are new to me, is it better than Apps2sd and the like to have this? should i have both?)
Upgraded radio
edit: oh yeah of course... custom rom... lol

Anything I have missed? I am currently on Android 2.2 Vodafone which has been rooted using unrevoked3, HBOOT is a much newer one than I was on before 0.93, does this make any difference any more?

If somebody could kindly put them in order of what I need to do that would be great, It's easy enough to find out how to do them all.

Download the AmonRA recovery, open Unrevoked without connecting the phone, go file, custom image and point to the AmonRa file, then plug in the phone. It will kick off the install of the AmonRa image. Done

Then, reboot to bootloader, here, I toggle the USB and clean and create a primary partition in diskpart. I then sd partition in bootloader. 0 swap file 512mb ext partition and upgrade to ext 4. I then usb toggle again and move the Rom (Oxygen 1.0.3 is a nice ROM to have at the mo, loads of cools stuff heading its way), to the SD card. Back in bootloader, I wipe everything first (after backing up somewhere), then flash the zip. You can download and install the radio the same way. Good to do those together. I then reboot, let the phone stabilise then reboot again.

I haven't messed with n1tables yet either

App data doesn't store on SD-EXT, over time this will consume up internal memory as the various caches fill up, and they should fill up to keep things running smooth. Dalvik can be cleared form time to time.

It can also improve performance in some situations.

Can anyone recommend a decent desktop dock for the Desire?

I'm thinking it'd be good to get one that has both USB and mains connections, so the phone can be charged when the computer's off but can also be connected to the computer when it's switched on.

Also, which leather cases are good?

You can but if you use Data++ (for an additional 50MB) you need to flash radios via Fastboot. You should flash radios from fastboot anyway though.

I'm using N1Table, not Data++. I have 103MB free right now with the apps installed in my sig.

Your sig just points to appbrain and the apps list of whoever clicking it has.

http://www.appbrain.com/my_apps which then just shows mine.

Latest oxygen change log has what i was hoping for, ability to use volume keys to control media in all apps woo!

gonna download soon

If anyone else has been having the same problem as me when trying to install the Android SDK (getting error message saying a JDK is not installed when it is), this thread has the solution.

Basically, DO NOT install the x64 JDK, you need to install the x86 version from the Sun website.

The instructions to flash the new table layout is on Alpharev website though :p

Yeah, loving gingerbread keyboard. Took me a while to get used to it again after swype but its very easy to use and accurate.

Is there a Gingerbread theme for Oxygen? I haven't got any theme server settings. What do I need to do?

I'll post instructions later on, the table to use for Leedroid is not data++ or n1table btw, else you'll get problems :p

Install Bravo Stock 1.5

I've fully customised my Leedroid 2.3 zip file and removed various bits and UOT baked my framework colours :D

Waiting to flash!
