Do you guys do all your shopping online to save time, hassle and money? Or do you prefer going to shops, and if someone doesn't like what you bought such as the colour of the shirt or the design of the new toaster, it's easier to go back and change it then do RMA's?

Almost always online unless I get desperate or feel like I need to get a good look at the item in person first.

Both. I get the presents that I know exactly what I'm looking for online, the rest I get in the shops - ie trawl through Boots and pick 3 random gifts for aunts/grandparents etc.

i went out and bought everything i could but ordered the rest online, price isn't a concern to me but if the items are expensive i'd rather pick it up from a shop.

If it can't be bought online then they get something else.

I hate shopping, doing it online makes it semi bearable.

with Christmas being only 10 days to go with the snow forecast?

I don't expect next day delivery to turn up Next Day at the moment.

Shops.

I had planned on doing my shopping online this year but unfortunately, like every other year I've left it too late. With the burst of buyers and the recent weather causing havoc and disruption to the post and couriers, I think it'll be shops as usual! Though, everywhere seems utterly mad with shoppers this year, queues lined up outside jewellers at 11am and so forth. Ah, the nightmares!

Have to disagree Seek, although I don't 'browse' and always have a good idea of what I'm after, I prefer going into a shop and seeing what I'm buying.

Some little known place that sounds like a rainforest is offering free delivery in time for xmas if ordered by saturday. But yeah, it also says some areas of scotland are experiencing delays of up to three days, and deliveries to the rest of the UK may take up to two days longer than usual.

You're probably right, I'm just exceptionally lazy. :D

I hate xmas shopping though. crowded shops with people spending money they can't afford on crap other people don't want.

Bah humbug! ;)

I have Amazon Prime, NOT a single ordered arrived next day in the last month.

Good luck with that !

oh, and I live in the midlands, not Scotland.

Shops, I like to see what I'm buying. Get the right feel for the present, and make sure it'll be right for the person getting it.

If I ordered some things from them before saturday, do you think it's unlikely I'll receive them before xmas eve? In one way I want to order online because it's a bit cheaper, and on the other hand, I usually leave xmas shopping till the 11th hour and don't mind doing it all in the shops, though obviously I won't save as much money.

I say if you CHOOSE Next day delivery and ordered by the weekend, then you are LIKELY to get it before Christmas.

With free delivery option, sometimes they take 2 days to pack the thing, that will take it to Tuesday, and with the weather and the backlog of posts and Christmas rush and pressure on Royal Mail. You would be playing Russian Roulette with your presents.

Order by tomorrow 3pm would be MY advice, and you should get them by early next week I expect.

Got all of my presents online this year. Going to the mall (Cribbs) on Thursday or Friday though so might do some last minute shopping.

Just find it far easier, cheaper and so much more to choose from with the likes of Play/Amazon etc.
