What is the best toy you've ever had?

Not counting my PC, I've had 40 years of buying toys and all have had their merits but the one I had 2 weeks ago has gone straight to the top of my list and will take some beating.
I ended up having a Smartphone (doesn't matter which one) and I can honestly say I'm gobsmacked and here's why -

1) I still can't get over having a Star Trek communicator in my hands but this one is a joy to use after the ones I've had over the last 15 years.

2) Music playback - I can get rid of my IPOD Touch, Sansa Clip and Archos.
I know some will argue that the sound isn't that good but to my ageing ears it sounds brilliant in the car and through my headphones.

3) Video playback - I can get rid of my IPOD Touch which I used to use every day to watch documentaries etc.
I can also get rid of a multimedia playback device I have in my gym and just plug the Smartphone into my TV.

4) I can get rid of my Tom Tom.
I take my Tom Tom everywhere (or used to) and put it on just for the sake of it because it still amazes me how it works.
This new phone is bang on because like a sad git I've tried the GPS every day even though I know where I'm going.

5) Games - I can get rid of my IPOD Touch once again.
I'm not a game player but what I've got is more than enough.

6) I've been into Satellite TV for 25 years with a 1 metre dish.
Just before footie season my dish was misaligned and I nearly bought a £40 satellite tracking device but opted for a £3 compass.
I downloaded an App called Dishpointer which is bloody marvellous.

7) I can use my Sony camera less because this Smartphone camera is producing great results.
No flash but the majority of my shots are in the daytime.
I haven't really tried the movie camera but I can't see it being as good as my Sony Flash Camcorder but will probably be OK for things now and then.

8) Internet in the pocket - WOW.
Nothing more to add to that.

9) Reading my emails anywhere and replying - WOW.

10) I like looking at the stars and now I have an App for pointing at one and the phone tells me what it is.

11) I'm sure I've missed loads out

I understand that a lot of you take this stuff for granted but to me it's awesome.

So, what is the best toy you've ever had?

Playstation 1. Haven't been interested in gaming since those days.

But tbh, the best is without question any PC with decent internet access. Doubt I'll ever own anything that will beat that.

Tamiya Roughrider circa 1980.

Built by my older brother one Christmas. Awesome.

Fibreglass and die-cast aluminium chassis, oil filled dampers, proper squashy tyres, brass bits & bobs.

Some not exactly toys but big boys toys, some I no longer have (guns) sobs :(

The wifes fun bags. Been playing with them for night on 15 years and I still don't tire of them.

when I was about 6 or 7 years old (1986/7), getting a 'Big Trak' one Christmas. The school had one, and getting one for Christmas all for myself was fricking epic!!

Lego Technic product 8880.
I also loved these ones too:

8868, 8862, 8832, 8854, 8855, 8856

Thinking about all this stuff makes me want the new Imperial Shuttle but it's £240!

Well I really don't see how that counts as 'Lego' - you can only make one thing with it. Lego (like the superior Meccano) used to be about creating models from your own imagination. :(
