Hi all,
Got myself a VW BORA 1.9 TDi SE 130 bhp, 04 plate in black with 61 k on the clock. It was only when I was driving it home I realised it's got cruise control, which absolutely made my day, i've allways wanted a car with cruise but resigned myself to having to go without because I wasnt spending fortunes.

Other than that it's got traction control, air con, alloys ( virtually unmarked ), all round electric windows, eletric mirrors & fuel computer so I'm a happy bunny + it's all original paintwork except a blow in around O.S rear door which looks a bit pants but it's a 6 year old car.

Cost me £5000
I'll take some photos if weather improves ( p.ing down at moment )

Most random comment ever.

Really? You've never heard a more random comment than that?

It's only got 130bhp and it seems a bit odd to have TC to me, probably because I'm used to being around older cars that have shed loads of power but no assistance. Yes, I know other cars have it too.

Most 'modern' (sub 10 year old) cars have some form of traction or stability control, it's really not that surprising. My brother's 02 1.9 TDI A3 with 130PS has ESP.

I may have paid a bit over the odds for it but i think it's worth paying a bit more for a good car, I'm not claiming I've got the bargain of the century or anything.
I've seen a 54 plate bora with 100 k on it for £3500 on the autotrader website so on paper yes I paid well over the odds for it, until you put the cars side by side ( not that i looked at that one mind ) then you see why there is a big price difference, I used to be a car paint sprayer so bodywork wise I notice lot's of stuff on cars that other people dont see & I can honestly say apart from the bit on the rear door that most people wouldnt notice anyway it is all original paintwork.
On the other side of the coin I've seen a 03 plate bora in autotrader with 56k on the clock for £6000, each to their own.

Surprisingly, yes it does often kick in, even with decent tyres and driving sensibly.

As does the ASC+T on my 140bhp BMW...although I have dead bushes at the rear so it's not exactly perfectly stable. :p

It just all seems a bit pointless after being in 450+ bhp cars with nothing to stop you from wrapping it around a lamp post. :p

Anyway, enough thread derailment!

Pointless?

Anything that keeps the general public that little bit safer (and on their side of the road would be nice) is a good thing, even on a mundane vehicle.
