OMG i give up ! 580

If you are happy misleading the company you purchased it from that it is not what you expected, then there is nothing they can do other than refund/replace. I personally wouldn't sound like you want to have your cake and eat it.
 
Only way they could refuse it would be if something was damaged, or any software disc seals were broken afaik.
 
If prices gone up sell it on second hand for hand, but return it under dsr if no takers. you dont have to lose money, but neither should whoever you bought it from really.
 
tbh im begining to think it could be faulty
idle at 47 degrees ? in a cool room ? at 45% fan

DSR rules suck for retailers but are great for Consumers

it does seem a bit unfair on retailers that they are stuck with "opened" returns, but thats what the rules seem to state - you even get your original postage back too.

It's not really a bum deal for retailers.
They sell over the net with massively reduced costs compared to street retailers.
We are the consumers and we should have more power than retailers who are making big big profits. Why do u think certain high street retailer gives 14 day moneyback? Same thing because they sell from a catalogue via a warehouse and u don't get to see the product.

^^^so lets not shed too many tears for the poor retailer...


GJ02 didn't like his product, simple as. He has a right to return it.

Same thing happens in USA. Reading forums ppl get a bad vid card and it's going back simple as...

just played F1 for ten mins
highest temp was 82 with auto fan with fan profile
its taken 5 mins to get it to 53 were its at now
something doesnt seem right
 
If all 580 clocked at 850mhz+ then Nvidia would have released a faster card! Some chips clock better than others, it's just the way it is. Returning it because it won't do 110% of the speed that it is suppose to run at is a bit silly imo.
 
all case fans working yes
the MSI card, you could see the temps drop right away, this one seem to take a bit to drop, im still @ 47 degs

Nvidia could easily release a "580gtx ultra" with 900mhz core had 6970 not been such a lemon.
