Started purchasing different bits and pieces for the ST which will be bolted to the car when weather/time allows. Already purchased a downpipe and sports cat and now on the hunt for a cat back exhaust.

Looking about it seems the Milltek are regarded as one of the best and command a premium price. The other 3 seem to be about the same price range and all use 304 stainless steel but, of the cheaper 3 which is the best?

See what the peeps on the owners club say, go to meets and see what they sound like, look at pics of them and the quality of the build.

I've a Miltek and it's a nice, well built piece of kit. Idle noise is nice, and well, anything else doesn't matter as Evo's don't sound particularly exciting. It's all reliant on turbo noises and transmission whine to keep you aroused :p

Magnex have been out of business for a year or two.

My choice from experience on two cars would be to go with miltek :)

Excellent build quality and awesome sounding.

Mongoose

Milltek

Scorpion

Magnex

They all sound pretty good to me, the Mongoose,Scorpion and Milltek all come with a lifetime warranty. Cant decide!

just for info, the Mountune Exhaust is apparantly a Milltek non resonated :) Although the milltek one with GT pipes looks badass!

soundwise and lookswise, i'm looking at Milltek resonated with GT100 tips next year at some point

The sports cat i bought is Milltek the downpipe is by Mongoose so i guess those 2 will be making the shortlist. Do like the sound of the Scorpion backbox though.

On the 306 the Magnex originals used to blow the middle box welds. Not sure since they got taken over, several different variations have come out since then.

The Scorpions had a thing for snapping at the rear section so not much better.

I had an original Magnex on my GTI-6 which was good, but loud.

On my Rover(s) I always went for the Mongoose, was an excellent exhaust which was always finished well and sounded great.

Leftfield suggestion... Piper?

I was a bit dubious when I got my one as I ended up buying it off the say so of the guy who designed it on Briskoda (who also gave me a discount in his new position selling the things at MSW!). So pleased that I did though, quite a different sound to the regular Miltek option on the Skoda.

Anyway I realise this has other mods but this was the first video I found...

I have a Piper Catback. Its 2nd hand, about 5 years old and doesn't have a spec of rust on it. The Milltek manifold i have, which is less than 2 years old, and is generally protected from the weather, is so rusty you wouldn't think it was stainless steel.

However, I'm not sure what Piper are like on Focus's but on my Fiesta it makes my ears bleed, but then that's the price i pay for having to cruise at 4000rpm? Id much rather a Milltek Resonated Exhaust but im worried at how bad Milltek's rust.

Probably the difference between Turbo and N/A not helping things there. Completely different car but my one isn't too obtrusive. At cruising speed you don't notice it at all until you give it some beans.

It mainly sounds nice due to the 5 cylinder engine it's attached to :D

I think that might play a part ;)

Still think it has a better tone to it than the "*drone...flop...flop....flop" that some of the other aftermarket options seem to give on the ST. IMO of course :p
