****Official Fallout New Vegas Thread****

Just got this for £20 brand new. For my first playthrough should I have hardcore mode on or off?

I would have it on for the first playthrough but only do the main quests which you can find out on the net which they are so the second playthrough you can explore more get sidequests done and generally dick about :p without having to worry about sleep - food - water etc that you do on hardcore .

Totally unrealted but, is it best to get fallout 3 then get this? as I haven't played fallout 3 so would the story of vegas make more sense if I completed fallout 3 etc?

Grrr... so I played yesterday, after having the new patch load only to play for ages without saving other than the autosave.

I practically complete the 'Return to Sender' quest only to find that the person locks themselves in a room and then it's bugged so nothing happens. First time I've encountered a total bugged quest, which also means I can't get the achievement. It's not on the patch list though.

Bought the game again now the patch is out, but I wish I'd not bothered. The save game corruption is fixed but ED-E is still missing and not shown on my map to locate him so I still can't enter Caesar's tent :/

Edit: I actually can get in the tent now. How odd!

Have you checked he isn't back in Primm?

I'm playing Hardcore mode and I've noticed since the patch that it feels like I get hunger and dehydration a lot quicker. The patch notes do mention fixing hardcore mode, but doesn't give any details.

Anyone finished the game and pretty much done everything?
I can't remember the amount of time I've put in off the top of my head, but I've been playing a good three weeks now and I've done a lot of side missions, but only really just started the Mr. House Quest. Looking at the number of quests there are still tons to go.

RAGE!

So, I was through 54 hours playthrough. Was ambushed in by powerful enemies, so ran back into a building. They followed and killed me. The game always loaded at the point where I stood next to them and ended with me dying instantly. A couple of times I tried fighting them off but with one stimpak, low ammo and being heavily outnumbered, it did not work in my favour.

So now I've had to reload the game but the last time I actively saved the game was at the 40 hour point. I suppose this will help me get through the game in a better way.

That sucks :( First real lesson I learnt playing FO3 was to save actively to avoid situations like that.

I got a save where I was being attacked by 10something mobs and didn't have any ammo or stimpaks. Luckily it was on the PC so I could resort to using some cheats to get some in the end.

Dead moneys out on live now!!!

all downloaded, the add-on also raises the level cap by 5 which is cool, i'll report back when i get there :)

I've been waiting to complete the game for this DLC. Already hit level 30 with the last few quests to complete so want to try this DLC.

Be interested to hear your inital thoughts, I remember the first DLC for F3 was rather short.

Thought there might be more discussion on this.

Managed to grab a copy of the DLC and give it a quick go. Very happy with it so far, you have to take your time with it, spent about 2 hours with it already and only done the first quest. It's definitely better than Operation Anchorage (the first Fallout 3 DLC) just a shame I've hit level 35 already :(

I'll be waiting for the eventual GoTY version to get my DLC packs. Haven't touched this since GT5 arrived though!

Just got 4200 points so I can buy the DLC!

On another note... I got them from Shopto, and the Code was texted to me immediately... really impressed :D

Finally picked up this game for the PS3 yesterday. £20 at Gamestation :)!

I've had around 20 mins game time and so far I'm liking it. Loving the new Harcore option. Should make the game a little more interesting!!
