*****Ultimate Football Manager 11*****

WHEY! Nice one tummy with the 5-0 :D (Last season I beat them 6-0 at home which was a surprise)

Strange tip but keep a fair few players on your short list and as the seasons progress (3-4 in ) some players get stuck in the reserves, I use Fabian Delph and Nacer Barazite as the best examples, and they get offered to you for large sums, dont pay it (as no one else gets in on them either) and wait for them to be released. If you lucky (and pay a fair bit to the agent) you can get them in on free's and just blow the wage budget on them. My 2 examples are some of the best le champ players iv seen in FM, just so upset when I couldnt give Nacer a better contract....

Also nice one for getting Shelvey! Iv tried to get him on loan almost every season and now he's 1st team at liverpool :( (never wanted to join me on loan for some reason...)

The unbeaten season is impressive, I did it last year as soton without the save thing but its really hard to ensure you get good enough signings in at the start of the season to get the team working together quickly (and cups are never important as we learnt with the johnstones paint trophy last year in real life)

Was over the ****ing moon with that 5-0 :p was a destruction! :D

I add tonnes of players to my short list to be honest, I always try and keep an eye on them whenever I can.

I can't explain the undefeated season, it was incredible to be honest. The team gelled very well and the tactics worked for the team.

Does Pacheco and Shelvey's stat improve in your game?

I tried getting them both on loan at Villa, but Liverpool didn't want to let them go, ended up buying Verrati (fantastic player!), Kums and Affellay, another top player.

Btw how do you bring your players back down to earth when they become too over confident? especially against weaker sides.

They're both good, I don't think Pacheco will be a World Class forward but he's okay for what I'm doing at the moment, Baxter just picked up an injury! He was in cracking form (did take 8-10 games to get going).

Bring them down, don't know really. I sometimes drop players that are doing well and try and encourage others to step up a bit.

Shelvey's coming along really well btw, has had a few incredible games for me and is almost the first name on the team sheet against the better sides ( I don't like to rely on him too much as I'm not sure if I'll be able to get him permanently soon)

Did you use your own tactics or download some?

Own :)

Don't tend to download anything for the game other then patches :p

I try and keep my tactics simple, 4 - 4 - 2, or 4 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 1, and then just tweak and tinker for each game / player rotation.

Burnley are awful. Not a team I'd enjoy playing as :p

I was thinking about Leicester (big Transfer money) for whenever I get depressed with Wednesday.

Two words - Javier Pastore.

The Utd board did my negotiations for me and came up with a £31m bid for him.

Early signs are that he may be worth it.

Urgh goes to AC Milan! and 26m in 2015! too much but then again too good!

To be honest as a "dirty" southerner (from MK really) I take wins against teams im less of a fan of really seriously, Sheffield united is one of them I dance the moon light away... (Wednesday away is always a good fixture and the other side of the town isnt as nice... Plus iv hammered them a few times)

Iv had the undefeated season, but only with the best transfers and team spirit at the same time, internet high 5 for getting them at the same time :)

With the short list, keep an eye on them for going on a free till your in the prem as some really really amazing players get released because they arnt quite good enough for top prem... (aka good prem and le champ) cant complain really ;)

I intend to! Really want to see if I can pick up some really cheap / free players next transfer season.

I'm still unbeaten, just past the Jan window and looking good for the League, opened up quite a gap.

Will be off loading players come the end of the season (lots of the ones I want to get rid of are running out of contract so I just won't offer them new ones)

Really do want to try and get Macheda from United :p :(

It's really funny, I develop a hate for certain people / clubs within Football Manager. I can't stand Sheffield United at any point though.

Started a game as Tottenham.

Bought Hazard for 15m and Mexes for another 15m. Playing a flat back 4, 2 CMFs, an AMF, 2 wingers and a poacher up front.

Seems ok so far :)

Macheda gets good still in FM, same as De Santo, harder to get to supid clubs though (tend to end up at brum or palmero now which is a shame)

Yeah Sheffield United, Harry Redknapp (le devil...) and Cardiff seem to inspire hatred for no reason... (other than the people they employ, and im adding Norwich to the list as they got some idiot as a manager who though I was out my depth even though I hammered them 3 seasons in a row)

Oh and StewartMG, the price you pay for players might not be the best price overall, but if you feel its worth it, considering the players, you cant complain (so long as you have a decent wage budget)

GOD DAMN YOU. HAGGLE MAN!

HAHA! theres a thing some one pointed out a page ago, it depends on how mental the player's agent is, if he really wants a big fee then you pay him more than he wants and can get less than the player needs for a season... :D (such a joke but comical)

got any advice as in player roles and stuff? im terrible with tactics

Erm, try and keep it simple.

I'd recommend a bog standard 4 - 4 - 2 to start off with. Try and go over each individual position and make sure it's simple, but effective. Keep passing short and raise the tempo if you have forwards with pace. Also, try and have one passing / one tacking midfielder in the side. None of this two DM's or two creative midfielders, someone's gotta do the leg work.

HALP!!! I'm not really sure what's happening, the game has frozen on penalties and won't let me continue? I can run the game fine and stuff but it won't continue the penalty shoot out?!?!?!?!!?]

I haven't saved for aaaaagggeeesss :( I might cry.

Sorry to everyone above, im offering hugs too when it fails for no reason! :) (happened to me a bit too with memory leaks)

Urm for player roles, the surprises to lower leagues are an anchorman/defensive mid and an offensive mid/attacking mid , your striker roles are dependant on the players you have... (an all out striker and a target man work well) but 4-4-2 ish work best (diamond or something similar) but yeah dont go with what the comp says, get players that fill these roles and lower leagues cant cope!
