The EK9 is technically the better chassis - the general consensus is that an EK9 with the Integra engine is the perfect compromise. But this is more due to the EK9 being lighter.

You're twisting things again. I never said it was as sporty as an Elise, now did I? I said it has been "likened in terms of driver enjoyment, feedback, rawness and sheer fun."

You wanted every car under the sun at some point though, I can't see how a passenger ride in a car and reading a few EK9 forums (where they make it's the best car ever made and not a 10-15 year old Honda Civic) has made your mind up so clearly.
Deciding that a specific example of a car is in brilliant condition and totally mint when it was always hundreds of miles away from you (and had a lovely crack on the rear bumper!) seems strange as well.
Things just never add up.
Perhaps you should inform yourself before telling me what I've done/said. My want of the DC2 goes back around 3-4 years to the last time I almost bought one, as well as spending a lot of time researching them. It has nothing to do with the EK9, but rather the EK9 was spawned from the DC2 consideration.

You have just gone and monumentally missed the point mate.
The EK9 is (to anyone who isn't an out and out raving Honda fanboy) a rubbish car for the money. There are loads of relatively cheap to run B Road bashers that are just as capable (if not more so) than the ancient Honda you fell in Love with, just with the added bonus of not costing £5,000 for a bottom of the barrel example of a 13 year old Honda Civic..
'if more so' - Pure conjecture and rubbish mixed with personal guesswork, they are pretty much as good as hot hatches come. I said that in the last thread on the same subject anyway.

I'm talking about the EK9 and the previous thread, you had an original shortlist that did not include an EK9, you read a forum, said you were having a test drive and actually got a passenger ride and then had decided that a car hundreds of miles away was mint and the dream.
The FTO doesnt have a lazy V6 - it has a MIVEC V6 which revs to 8000rpm and has a similar technology to VTEC. It's also got a fantastic chassis. At the very least drive a GPX - I'm sure one of your many car owning friends has one they'll let you drive (even if your EK9 owning mate wouldnt let you have a go).
You've no idea what you want.
Thats why you've been about to buy everything from an E36 M3 to an RX8.

Actually that comment highlights another problem mike. You're ridiculously quick to dismiss cars without actually getting behind the wheel of them.
Please don't take this comment the wrong way, but you were going to spend £5,000 on a B Road Hoon car based on nothing more than internet reviews, Hype and a passenger ride in one. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds to 99% of us?
I can sense this'll get locked down soon for "bullying"

You're right, I build an opinion of many cars based on what their owners tell me, what people who review cars for a living tell me, and my experiences with them. Lazy != Low rev limit. But again, FTO does not appeal, nor do I believe it has any of what I like so much about the Hondas.

Please do correct if I'm wrong then, but you made an offer to buy a car, having not driven it nor one of them. Had your offer been accepted would you have retracted it if you didn't like the drive/feel or the actually example didn't turn out to be as nice as advertised?
