2010 OcUK Motors Review/Recap thread.

I think you're confusing fantasist with indecisive.

Not at all, indecisive people don't tell an internet forum that they've bought a house and had a mortgage arranged by a friend who is a mortgage advisor, who has arranged for record breaking time between exchanging contracts and moving in only for it to materalise months later that said person actually lives in rented accomodation and doesn't own the house they live in after all :p

Instead of trying to win arguments by attempting to defame, why not try addressing the actual argument in hand for once.

Why isn't it the perfect car for me?

Why is (or 'was' if you've changed your mind) it the perfect car for you?

The reason I don't think it was right is that from your many, many threads discussing the type of car you were going to replace the ST with "Bang for buck" was just about the only recurring theme. This is something that a EK9 Civic Type R does absoultely horribly.

(And guys, please be mindful that this is turning this into "THE TIME HAS COME Part II - Mike Strikes Back")

I think you've mistaken my requirements. I want something that is exceptionally good at blasting down B-roads whilst being reasonably cheap to own. Something an EK9 or DC2 fits perfectly :)

Loads of other cars do exactly that. With the added bonus of not costing £5,000+

But ScoobyDoo69 is right, lets let this one lie.

So? There are loads of other cars that do what any other car can do for £500, that doesn't stop people spending more than this to buy a car they want. Just because you choose to drive a cheap ****ter whilst convincing yourself it is good, does not mean everyone else wishes to.

FFS, listen to yourself - A car is a bad choice because there are cheaper cars available. LOL.

I'm fairly confident my ability to post ill thought out & illogical randomness (with far too many trucks) has stayed fairly consistent throughout the year.

'tis a Happy Christmas & all that **** hope everybody is having a good time.

And unlike some, I can still post with fairly correct spelling, whilst rat faced.

Must try harder. ;)

Because its the best £5k B road basher. And its half the age of an old Honda.

It isn't a particularly sporty feeling car to sit in, it doesn't do the job as good as the two Honda alternatives, its missing an LSD and will depreciate faster.

Don't get me wrong, it's a worthy alternative, but it does not do it for me like Honda alternatives do.

I do not feel that age is particularly relevant here, as it isn't something that bothers me. The age difference is offset by Renault's reputation for reliability and build quality, anyway.

So go buy one of the Hondas, if the residuals are that good you'll be waiting around a long time for them to get much cheaper than they are.

At least I have a car :D.

You have just gone and monumentally missed the point mate.

The EK9 is (to anyone who isn't an out and out raving Honda fanboy) a rubbish car for the money. There are loads of relatively cheap to run B Road bashers that are just as capable (if not more so) than the ancient Honda you fell in Love with, just with the added bonus of not costing £5,000 for a bottom of the barrel example of a 13 year old Honda Civic..

It seems like the thread I started in good concious have been ruined, but I guess in a round about way it really is a fantastic example of Motors in 2010 - Whatever MikeHiow touched turned to ****.

Well done, I have three :)

It is far from a rubbish car, but if you could find a car that I want for less money then that'd be great - but you can't. Instead you tell me I'm an idiot, continue with pages of arguments telling me I should buy a 172 or a 205 GTi, regardless of the fact that I want neither.

And you obviously derive less pleasure from them than I get from my old cheap ****ter :).

I think the sole cause of all the controversy and indecisiveness is that not even you know what you want.
