Is it essential for me to update to the Oxygen HBOOT if I want to use RC4?

And will it be essential to have the HBOOT when it goes into a proper release and not an RC anymore?

Just flashed the oxygen hboot, smooooooooooooooooooth. Thanks for the headsup khan. Ps anyway to get gmail count on zeam?

Is there a tutorial anywhere?

RC4 hasn't fixed the problem with emulators (snesoid, nesoid etc..) not working. Worked fine with RC2.

It's all explained on http://alpharev.nl/
I've just done it in a virtual machine, very easy and straightforward :)

"Wipe everything..." - I can't be ****ed doing that! I guess I would end up having to repartition my SD card too if I want the space back from my ext3 partition?

Is it really worth the effort? I am getting tired of flashing, wiping etc...! Lol!

yeah im the same, dunno if i want to, as other roms wont use it???? can i just confirm it just increases internal memory size? or is there more?

Well, I've tried RC4 but for some reason my status/notification bar isn't appearing
Posted on the xda forums but no response yet.
Think I'll just stick with Froyo for now unless anyone has a fix.

yeah rc3 is fine for me and i think now i will just wait for final versions

You need to install htc sync and the android sdk. You can then access the fastboot via a cmd promt. Ive had 0 problems with oxygen rc2/3/4 but i aint tried emulators. Gave up on defrost for the time being.

im trying to flash my hboot to try oxygen rc4 but im getting this error

Ah if you have the latest SDK then the file locations are slightly different IIRC, you need to open a cmd prompt at another location - Can't remember which as I still use the old SDK!

I got the zip version and not the exe, ive just extracted them to the root of c, i then go into c:\android\tools where i copied the image file, and then i try the following command

Im typing "fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaslp-oxygen.img"

then get that error does that sound right? This cant be done by burning img to cd and booting from that can it?
