Missing Bristol woman confirmed murdered

What was the reaction?
A couple of days after she was confirmed missing he was already talking about finding her body so they could get closure and that sort of thing rather than a missing person type thing, it was quite weird. At the very least he was already assuming she was dead.

yeah exactly that

you see other cases where the parents never give up hope of there child returning and not even a week gone and hes talking about her body, and he didnt look genuine on tv to me.

Shock does all kinds of weird things to people. And they were told by police to 'expect the worst'.

I was in a pizza restaurant over the way from that little Tesco that night. I didn't see anything odd, you don't think to look, do you? I might have left the place about 9 or 10pm - which is much later than she would have been in there.

So, this does have significance to me, and to the many other OcUKers who live around here.

theres expecting the worse and giving up hope straight away , after 2 , 3 days.

strange thats all. im not accusing the bloke im just saying his reaction was strange

Some of us go a bit numb when surprised by something sudden and upsetting. Fixating on just one outcome - even if the worst - is a coping strategy.

Many here "had a feeling" she was dead as soon as they'd heard about the story - he probably felt the same.

Hope can also tear people apart when said hopes are dashed to the ground. He was probably protecting his sanity.

And yes, Pizza Provencal is incredibly tasty :D

I also thought the dad was a bit weird, but then a lot of people are - especially put in a situation like that.

But anyway I think we can all agree this is basically Waitrose's fault - if they had more selection and lower prices this might never have happened.

But it it stops people reoffending 100%

Well said! Scum like this should be killed as a punishment, life in prsion means 15 odd years and then they are free. The families of the victims will never fully overcome what has happened, while the perpetrator walks the streets to possibly do it again.

i want you to spend some time considering the following word

rehabilitation.

Cheers

i found the fathers reaction a bit strange.

+1.

Still don't know why his actions/performance seemed so strange..... but it was as though he knew a lot more than he was letting on..... or had been told to say things via some pre-rehearsed script. Either way - it just appeared to lack real despair / loss of love & I know if it was my daughter I really couldn't talk like that.

And I'm also going with the probability she bought the pizza to share with another guy she was seeing on the side..... while her BF was away for the weekend. Why would a reasonably fit looking girl go in and buy a rather large pizza all for herself at 8pm (even if it did mean she was only going to eat 1 or 2 slices herself)..... when are so many other things she could have bought.

They don't do those Tesco Finest pizza in a smaller size. Maybe she just liked that flavour? I've bought larger than I can eat pizzas before and saved some for the next day.

Should she have bought some mini scotch eggs and sausage rolls due to being on her own that night?

Oh jesus, one murder reported on Sky News to fill in the slow news over Christmas and people start going OTT, Do you know how many murders happen that you don't know about.

For 2008/09 the number of murders & manslaughters in England and Wales was - just 648...... almost all reported upon & hardly thousands.

So it is pretty scary for someone that lives close by - and the fact it occured around Christmas makes it even more worrying to most people.

When did the boyfriend go to Sheffiled? He reported her missing on the 19th, two days after she was last seen alive.

BF killed her, then went to Sheffield, then came back and reported her dead?

Thing is it must be terrible for him if he's innocent, as he's automatically everyones prime suspect :(.

The BF has been ruled out of being a suspect and has been classed as a witness.

Does anyone actually read/watch the news?

Most likely it was some random she very briefly dated or met with, perhaps even an online bloke. But the fact that nothing was disturbed in her home could also mean that it is someone that is close to her.

It is very sad no matter how her murder happened.

It disturbs me that a story like this occurs around an area my partner and I often frequent- it really hits home.

It is a horrific situation to happen at any time, but Christmas day truly adds a level of tragedy :(
