***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

In B-Spec, Ive golded first event in the jag xj13, but only silver in the second. Takes ages for driver to take over anyone, and ai in 1st was wizzing round. when i finaly caught up, we were almist half a lap ahead of the pack !, but my driver refused to take over to win :/. Fully tunned toyota7 and shelby cobra, my driver just doesnt want to know at all and often crashes into the barrier on last corner :(

I find they crash at Monaco when told to overtake, if you leave them on increased pace for most of the lap then they drive fine, then on the start/finish straight tell them to overtake, then return them to increased pace before you get to casino square, rinse and repeat :)

I have a PSN friend who likes pink for some reason.
So I sent over a bright pink Gallardo last week, seeing as I was handing out cars anyway and I thought it'd be a nice touch.
Although it all seems a bit pointless now that people have started handing out cloned X1s. -_-
Why are they such paint nazis anyway? Why not let people paint their car whatever colour they like, as often as they like?

lol Sydney you were going on about Pink Paint last week too, why the need? I have only found one pink and I passed it onto you :p

Neither of mine are cloned :( It kind of de values the currency a little :(

Also I used a Countach on the Historic Cup. MAN UP PEOPLE :p stop trying to borrow Toyota 7s

lol, I confess to using the Toyota 7, having earned it myself.
I tried it in the Cobra at first, then the Buick and had no luck, didn't get round to the winning the Countach till later.
Cloning does kind of cheapen the community a bit if you ask me, especially when a certain someone tries to drive his unearned X1 around when everyone else is in much slower but more deserved cars, then being unable to handle it repeatedly smashes into people or throws it into the gravel. You know who you are :p

Oh sorry Milano, thought you meant the a-spec race :) not bothered with specials myself.

Btw can someone save me 1mil creds (saving for FGT) and loan me a car for the GTC (german touring car championship, level 22) I will love you long time :) (DeLiTa7x)

I'll loan you my Lexus if you loan me your NASCAR?

Just started off B-Spec. I need a Toyota 7 thing. A couple of questions.

Is it worth creating 2 or more drivers at the start. I only have 1 atm, Level 5. Would it best creating another and adding experience to both of them as I level up? Do you require 2 drivers in any of the races?

Also, I find that my driver slows to a crawl around tight(ish) corners, half way through it, floors it resulting in the back end stepping out and 7/10 times loosing control. Does this happen to anyone else? It does get annoying.

Only use one for now, when he gets to level 20-25 you can start chucking new drivers in longer races along side you "good" driver and they'll level up about 11 levels instantly, makes it so much easier :)

I never knew that. Don't they just crash out?

Not if you put them on Indy Super Speedway :D Even a level 0 driver can drive in Like the Wind, provided you total B spec skill level is high enough, and give them an F GT and let them rip one at a time. Or you can use them in endurance races, that also works :)

Awesome, I've slogging away in the lower races levelling them up, screw that now. :D

Any good settings for the FGT? Seems to take an age to respond to steering inputs.

For Indy B spec maximise the downforce, set the top speed to 250-260mph, for A spec or real race tracks then I'd suggest looking on GTPlanet for some settings :)

Goddam that was tough. I finally nailed the NASCAR nurburgring seasonal on a ds3. It was brutal but I have noticed a couple of things about the race.

Winning doesn't depend on lap times like it seemed to do in other chase races. In the past if you hit certain lap times you will win. In this it is not the case. I put in two 6'47s and came 2nd by a second. This was because I was held up by 4th place for a while but was still lapping pretty fast.

In the race I won, I cut corners and made sure I aimed to overtake as a priority rather than stay fast. I won the race with two laps that were both slower than my previous averages.

I don't know if this will help anyone trying but given how much two laps in a NASCAR requires I hope it saves someone some stress

I've just done the NASCAR Seasonal Event too. Setting the downforce to max helped a lot.

First lap were a 6.46, second was 6.39.

Won it comfortably in the end.

I've completed all but one of the Seasonal Events in Gold. Can only manage 2nd in the RX-7 race. My car is just tail happy when putting the power down.
