*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

What does anyone else's battery use look like, I've got a really high amount of "awake" time - what is this defined as? The only services running are the keyboard and Google services... I took mine off charge to move here and get a screenshot, then realised my mistake! Will post mine in a few hours.

got rc5 on lastnight its great

anyone else having random reboots? where the phone restarts and just sits at the oxygen boot screen in a loop. battery pull is the only way out

happened once on rc2 once on rc4 and lastnight on rc5 woke at around 4am and it was doing it. everytime its happened the phone is very hot

not overclocked

Actually, the awake time I mentioned above seems to be something polling - on the overall timeline these get compressed. I've lost 2% in an hour of it sat doing nothing!

What do you guys actually prefer about Oxygen? I must be missing it as there are a lot of problems/bugs for what I perceive as little or no benefit over other ROMs. I'm tempted to do a video comparing speeds on both of my Desires, one running a decent Sense ROM and one running Oxygen.

Or is it all about the cool lockscreen animation and the kudos of havng Gingerbread before other people? ;)

Speed, Gingerbread, Lockscreen, the text marker points all over the OS instead of just in the browser like in Sense, The new animations too :p

That and the better UI implementation and features of the OS itself, it's far better to see memory info in applications management and simpler to move apps to SD as well as get a breakdown of resource and battery consumption compared to FroYo.

Those are all valid points, but not something 99% of us would notice really (even those of us here using many different custom roms). I don't get resource, memory or battery problems.

In real term use I've not noticed any difference between Oxygen and the Sense roms I've used. Can you be more specific and I'll do a side by side comparism video?

Don't know how to be more specific really apart from breaking down my usual daily usage routines. I think it will be a fairer comparison once the N1 OTA is out for 2.3 because at the moment it's a BETA release vs a stable final release!

Bugs do exist, but nothing that can't wait to be fixed in the OTA I guess.

yeah correct, we are at the moment in a beta product and any tests should be done after the nexus1 update is out and the final oxygen rom is out.

for me i do miss some sense features, but the machine boots quicker and the menu system seems faster, less bloat and rubbish, its a slick minimalist rom.

saying that i would like to see some side by side comparisons, because i do believe with a lot of roms there is some placebo effect.

I'll be honest, I'm using it just because I can :) There are things that are a lot quicker though, opening up manage applications and just having everything there is nice, back on Leedroid it would take a little while to sort its self out. In general use though it's not quite so marked a difference, it does feel just that bit snappier in use, especially in systems tasks. I don't like the banding you get in the galery in non-sense ROMs and I do miss the friends stream. Flickr integration in sense is good as well so I'll probably migrate back to a gingerbread sense ROM when they're out.

im the opposite and use them daily :)

Really? I find the camera pitifully slow, my old N95 was better! I should point out that my photographic subjects are usually moving so the massive lag is a nightmare. I also find t very susceptible to the slightest movement.

Generally use mine when im out and about so in good light its pretty good, i agree the N95 was pretty good

Im currently on a HD rom and find the camera much much faster on that seems very little lag compared to old sense and asop roms

That's interesting, I've never bothered with a HD based rom. I shall have to have a look see :)

gives loads of options on the camera and has a much nicer look to it (camera that is) was a little laggy at first but its sorted itself out, whatever i try i always end up back on leedroid.....
