What's the most scared you ever been in a real-life situation?

For me it was probably when I was diagnosed with a serious illness.

When I was about 13 and had to run through some woods at around 11 o'clock at night on my own because my friend who lived on the other side of them to me was grounded and couldn't stay at mine any more. Luckily I knew the woods very well and pretty much ran as fast as I could almost by memory alone because it was pretty much pitch black.

That or when I watched The Village ;)

Going through the "Witches Tunnel" when I was a kid, urban myth but when you are a kid it was scary, really really long tunnel that was just about the size to fit through and had a stream of water running through it, and the myth was that a witch cursed it when she died in there, there was a carving in the middle of it in the concrete and if you touched it, the witch would start chasing you through the tunnel, as it was in the middle, there was a hell of a long way till the end, the whole tunnel was about 250meters and you had to place one leg on one side of the tunnel and the other leg on the other side and sort of shuffle along as you couldnt run through the water.

We used to do this in the dark too

Another one

Almost falling out of the harness on a ride that went upside down and was high! If I had fallen out I wouldnt be alive today, I was a kid and far too young to sit in the seat/harness safely, I should never have been let on that ride. Given that when the ride got to the top and was upside down, it stayed there for 10-15 seconds!!

what did you do to deserve that:confused:

bought a drink at the bar and the ******* must've seen my cash in my wallet... walked about 5 feet away from the bar and he cornered me.

this was at the junction in cambridge, at warning (d'n'b night). a few years ago the security wasn't the best, as in you maybe had 2-3 bouncers walking around inside the club.

me and my mate were thumbing a lift when we both 16 or so. these 2 guys picked us up in the back of their van. it's fair to say i **** my pants when they went past where we asked to be dropped off and kept on going....

they carried on for about another mile before they let us out. i think they could see we were bricking ourselves.... :o

When I was 13 I went to steal some pizza toppigs from the walk-in refrigerator at my dads shop but i didnt know that the inside handal didnt work. I was locked in there for over an hour wearing shorts, t-shirt and socks on a tile floor. By the time my dad noticed I was missing (the house was above the shop) I could hardly stand.
:(

When I acknowledged my mum had terminal cancer just before Christmas.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

The most scared I've been was when my mother collapsed out of nowhere and wouldn't respond a couple of years ago. It was so terrifying and the feeling of utter helplessness I hope I will never go through again. She's fine now.

:( Sorry to hear that mate & you've put things in purspective for me as well.

Following the Ambulance with my old Mum in it last year was easily the most scared I've been. :(

2 times I can think of:

1) In madam tussauds there is a bit with some actors in a pitch black room and they come up to you and freak you out, I wasn't expecting it at all, I nearly pooed my pants, for serious.

2) When I was a kid we used to throw stuff at buses, I don't know what they were but they are like little flower buds, one day me and my mate were doing it and I decided to throw one at a car, it hit the car and they guy slammed the brakes on and started reversing, I **** a brick and ran all the way home (about half a mile) flat out and never threw anything ever again.

Only time I've ever been actually scared was when I was around 15 or so - my parents were avid mountain climbers and would take us along to, my brother was fooling around on loose, rain damp scree mere feet from a ~200foot drop and despite my pleas he wouldn't stop and my parents didn't take my fears seriously - I felt sure he'd go over any moment and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

Been other tense moments in my life including ones where I've nearly died but I've never been quite so face to face with the reality as that incident.

Playing rounders at school must have been a problem :(

Sorry to hear that fella, stay strong.

For me, it would be when I found out my wife was pregnant 6 years ago.
On the flipside it was also the happiest time i've ever been.

Holding the wife during a contraction, whilst the anesthetist gave her an epidural.

Shortly before he said "don't move.. you must try not to move or it can sever the nerves in the spinal column" :/
