Fuel theft attempt

I suppose it was inevitable given the current fuel prices.

I got to the car this morning and found the filler flap forced open and the fuel cap unscrewed. No diesel was taken thankfully, so either they were interrupted of found they couldn't siphon anything out.

I doubt this is the last time I'll see this. Last time in a previous car they cut the line above the tank and drained it there. This was when I lived in London.

I've ordered a locking fuel cap to add a further obstacle but I think this is unlikely to be an isolated incident. For the time being I'm going to keep my fuel levels quite low as I normally have at least a 3/4 full tank.

For all it matters I live in a fairly nice area and the car was on my drive.

Keep your eyes peeled.

My fuel cap doesnt lock, and the flap thats supposed to lock into place when I lock the car up.... doesnt lock :(

Might be time to invest, although I never fill it more than 1/2 full. Can't take the pain :p

How much money do you save by visiting petrol stations twice as often?

Doesn't matter how little you leave in the tank they can't guage that can they, they will just drill the tank regardless, pain in the arse when the penny drops and you cant find a cork big enough :(

This is what makes me laugh about people 'living in a bad postcode'.

If I was some thug I wouldn't be nicking cars from around the council flat that I live in, I'd be nicking cars from the nice side of town. The same goes for house robberies. Why the heck would anyone burgle a council house?

The scrotes from the skanky area come to the nice area to vandalise and steal your things. They seem to think that because they failed in life it is OK to nick your stuff that you paid for, including fuel.

You seem to think that council house = ***** scum

You are incorrect.

some guys once stole fuel out of my mates Mini. While it was easy to open up and take the fuel from such a old car, it was a bit daft as it has like the smallest tank ever, and there was only like 4 litres in the tank. Utter waste of time. Better off nicking from a van or a big saloon.

Why would you put nice things in a crap house?

because if you aint wasting money on a big grand house, you can fill your cheap council house with a 50inch LED TV etc.
