Hi everyone

I really fancy giving one of these war games a bash and just wanted to see if battlefield is worth a go, i cant believe i missed the xmas special on steam where it was really cheap now back to £20!!

Just want you opinion on the game and if there is a better alternate, i think i should be able to run the game with no issues my setup is in my sig. Just got my 5850 running at 1.135v 900/1100 :)

i liked bc2 for a while but, i found it quite arcade type of war game,

if you want it to be more realistic & more like your in a real war zone i would recommend Medal of Honour i think its really close to what BF3 should be like. (however on multiplayer it is infantry only) but single player was very good and i hate sp games.
if you like the BF2 type of game that is.

Thanks for that mate, to be honest since playing gears of war i kinda completely went off 1st person shooters but i really wanna get into one again, i see cod is still kinda expensive so just wanted to get a feel for a game thats realistic and graphical good

Hi

Its a Yay from me.. great game, although you'll need some patience to begin with until you get some decent unlocks & weapons.

Cheers

my opinion is the opposite from smogsy, I completely thought the MoH singleplayer was very average and thought multiplayer was better

On the issue of BC2 however I definately recommend it, both single and multiplayer are extremely good and enjoyable, oh and Vietnam is a great addition to it

I strongly suggest that you NOT get this game and get something else instead.

It's embarrassingly bad no matter what people say, here's just a few issues off the top of my head:
  • The lagg is shocking. Doesn't matter if you play on a European/U.K server, you're always bound to have 100 or more ping, like everyone else. Because of the lagg, you'll shoot someone, kill them and then 2-3 seconds later you'll die by the guy you just killed. The lagg is on par with these crappy 'Free 2 Play' peer-to-peer based games.
  • Practically everyone plays as the Sniper Class. Due to the maps being that large people don't bother with anything else and usually it's just a camp fest.
  • No one bothers with objectives, choosing instead to Snipe from afar instead of capping flags/bases. Literally every game mode, no matter what it's called turns into a Deathmatch.
  • Horrid, cluky controls. Honestly, come off CS:S and play this. Feels like a console to PC port, the aiming feels no where near accurate enough for what it should do for a game like this.
  • Retarded players. You'll mostly play with Eurotrash that will shoot you on sight if you take 'their' car/helicopter/boat/tank. Pathetic behaviour, I honestly thought there would be more mature players playing this game.

By all means, feel free to give it a go but prepare to be disappointed.

Please PLEase PLEASE give BF, MoH, and CoD a miss and go for Arma II instead.
If you want realistic, ArmA is the big it.

huh, wat people friendly fire you for taking vehicles? Never had this happen

YAY

Totally worth it, especially if you can get with a group of people to play MP, playing solo (in MP) isn't as good.

I have 400+ hours in MP, not bad for a £20 purchase in April

I beg to differ. It's just a different kind of intensity.

you cant really dive into ARMA 2 though can you and you definatley cant dive into its multiplayer. It has a bit of a steep learning curve. It's still a great game though.

with BFBC2 you can just dive in and you soon pick it up after a few rounds.

Just get BF2 Vanilla & play on the 64 man Infantry only servers it's the best you can get in my opinion.

I honestly thought that Bad Company 2 was one of the most boring games I've ever played. It just has zero appeal for me, the campaign was slow and dull, and the multiplayer was just simply not enjoyabe.
