I'm just saying, that I have heard many people I know talking of cases when these car-wash places have played this 'trick' on people.

If it's xenophobic if your eyes, fill your boots. In my head, logic suggests, I'm merely saying, it's something to watch out for.

This could easily go down as not being covered by insurance, leaving your friend quite severely out of pocket.

Your friend hasn't taken "reasonable endeavours" to secure the car at all times, which I believe is the phrasing used in most insurance small print.

Your post in a nutshell was - the OP's friend handed over the car to immigrants and expected to come back and everything was okay, is he mad? Thus implying that immigrants always steel cars. You don't need to pretend you are anything other than a xenophobe, you've proven it VERY well in the past.

So some guy just happened to be strolling by and thought 'I might go chance my luck and pretend I own one of these cars because the actual owner might have left his keys here and gone somewhere for a couple of hours'?

One of them probably phoned a mate and he's come and picked it up and ****ed off with it. They'll sell it in some dodgy freeads paper in a nearby town for half its value and then split the cash between themselves.
