Looks like lots of old ADV disks from the back of their warehouse to me! .... I recognise some of those from the £2 a disk ADV UK shutting down sale (I know I got Angelic Layer, Gad Guard, Madlax and Magical Shopping Arcade for that much at least). It may be possible to pick up something good but be careful if they haven't got all of the volumes as you may not be able to find missing ones easily and cheaply, and for some of the older series it could work out easier and cheaper to pickup up a newer re-released R1 boxset.

Finished Nyan Koi earlier ... quite a fun little series overall with a bit of supernatural stuff. Down sides were that the plot doesn't really move overly much and the characters lack depth ... but it was humorous enough. Indications at the end of the series that there will be a second one and the plot is certainly left open for it.

Sky Blue, GITS 2.0 Redux and GITS 2 for £19 for the 3 on Blu-ray is pretty tempting. Shame they're doing so few blu-ray in this sale though.

You can get all 3 for a slightly cheaper total from the rainforest.

Sky Blue has been peanuts for ages iirc. Not much of a 'sale' ' :(

I would pick up Last Exile, but it would be a bit of a waste considering i want the Blu Ray.

I wonder whether i should pick up The Sky Crawlers sometime. I never really gave it a chance the first time i watched it (in fact i didn't finish it iirc).

edit: Even thats a few quid cheaper on the rainforest. 2nd Edit: Looks like it's the combi pack on sale.

Just watched Working!! anime and I must say I enjoyed it a lot, all the way until the last ep or two, it just didn't keep the momentum of the earlier ep's. Must say it has become one of my favourite animes now, closely behind K-On!.

Had a look at the play sale, think I will be getting a few of those Ghibli films!

I quite liked Working!! ... was an interesting little series. It's getting the NISA premium release treatment in March on R1 under its alternative title Wagnaria!! which I have on pre-order :)

Just finished Tsukihime; decided to watch it because of my love of vampires and the supernatural.
What can I say, I can see why it wasn't well recieved. In many ways it's pretty clumsy and suffers for the 12 episode format, as it actually directly feels like a lot has been sped through/cut/ignored from the initial vn, and the depth suffers heavily as a result.

It's not terrible, but it is distinctly lackluster and I had a hard time gelling with the series (I almost dropped it half way through) even despite my love of one of the underlying subject matters/genre.
In many ways it feels a lot like the followup F/SN series, potentially having been excellent, but feeling like that potential was largely wasted, and the ending is pretty unfulfilling.

Probably Amigami SS next now I've watched a few less focused shows, but I do have a couple of choices so not sure yet :)

How did you find their ordering process and delivery/packaging? I've never tried ordering from them online but their stores .... well they are just amazing really. Their Nakano store(s) are great and you can loose so much time in them and their Osaka Grand Chaos store is good too (although quite hard to find things in). Never managed to make the Akihabara store though as I kept on ending up in Animate ;)

Excellent, they will declare any price you ask on the package (the only Japanese store I have found that will) and it's always well packed and fast.

There is no Tsukihime anime.

Lol...I've seen that quote a few times.
I can kinda see where it comes from now, I've not played the game, but as I mention the show does feel massively pared down. Looking through some info I can see it IS quite clearly based at least on an arc from the original, but it seems to have been heavily trimmed to fit, so you lose a lot of depth. But then again, I felt much the same way about Fate\Stay Night...perhaps Type-Moon needs to look at diferent directors/writers if they consider producing another series in the future.

It's a shame really, as some of the characters had real potential to be likeable, but due to the way they were handled and developed, and the show paced, it got mired down by everything else. With a better writer and more time spent, it probably could have been quite a nice little series.
I mean Akiha, Shiki, Ciel and Arcued (actually even Nero and Roa) all had the potential to be quite interesting as characters in thier own right, with some depth, but they're never really developed beyond being a bit one dimensional to any great extent, and what does happen is pretty much just to force the plot forward, not because it feels natural.

The Fate/zero prequel novels have been given the greenlight for an anime adaption, so now we can see the story of the 4th Holy Grail War and the parents of the established characters.

It is easier said than done though when it comes to the Type-Moon adaptions, but their main novel games have so much material, and in the end, it's always to do with budget and resource constraints.

If they did an adaption of Melty Blood, I would LOL so hard. :D

Finished watching the first season of Birdy the Mighty Decode earlier. I thought that the series was very good; good characters, good story, lots of action and good pacing. In some way the series reminded me of Eureka 7 (in feel as opposed to content).

Oh don't tell me that, I'm going to have to buy it now. Any other good comedy style animes to watch? Not really too sure what to try.

Check out the new anime, FREEZING. Looks very 18+

Because of the nature of the anime i have star'd the words out so you will have to find it yourself :p

lol will take a look later, got a big enough backlog already though right now!

Just started Amigami SS last night, does seem quite sweet so far, only seen a few episodes though so will see how it goes. :)

Watched Eden of the East (series) on BD earlier ... looks rather nice and is still a very interesting series on a re-watch. Now just need to wait for the movies to start coming out in a few months :)

Looking at stuff like this really does reaffirm the fact that we are much better off with our pricing and lucky to boot. Even if we do moan about it from time to time.

(39,900 yen) £309 for 24 x 25 minute odd episodes +ova and a load of extras. Thats insane.

Why is stuff like this so expensive in Japan? I've seen the Kanon/Clannad Blu Ray sets going for similar prices before. I totally understand it's a different economy but..it's pretty eye opening.

Not anime but i just picked up Lost seasons 1-6 on Blu Ray, and thats less than £100, and it must have 4-5 times the content of some of these Blu Ray sets in Japan.

I'm looking at that purchase of FMA Brotherhood on Blu Ray in a better light now...

@ Memyselfandi, i'll be picking that up eventually, it was a nice little series. Are there any extras on the blu ray?
