***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Just done 4/5 of the Seasonal, my god the 111R feels weird, backend feels like it's floating :p

Good fun tho, managed to do them all first time with all assists off and with just Sports Soft, Stage 1+2 weight reduction and air filter :)

How do I get to 14mil before the 2J disappears? Ill have 3-4mil after doing all the seasonals but Im on A Spec 21 and B Spec 0...

ps3ud0

I wouldn't bother mate it's not an imperative car to complete any races yes it can help but with a little skill they can all be done with other cars.

Failing that if you really need one for an event i can loan you one. And i've also seen the chap 2j in the used dealers quite a few times already but thats sheerly luck on my part. I really do want all the available colours of the FGT tho but will cost a small fortune lol

Thanks for the offers guys - its nice - but Im determined to beat GT5 without resorting to loans. Least it makes it a worthwhile goal/challenge. Hopefully something like it turns up in my used but a bit cheaper - forgot to say Ill need a FGT too so thats another few million on top :p

Well, if you ever want either of them, I don't want mine :D

They removed the restrictions?

That sucks I've done them all except the Nascar :(

Theres not much you can change on the Nascar anyway IIRC.
Saying that tho, it's still very easy as I didnt even bother changing the oil and had only 824BHP, was also facing the wrong way on the start/finish straight after a spin at the end of lap 1 :o and I still won by a country mile. :(

The NASCAR seasonal is rather easy actually. If you're struggling at all, just whack the downforce to max on both front and rear. I drove like a muppet and still won.

I can give you one if you want?
Have you done that with duping to another account, deleting the save and using a backup save where you still have the car?

I am hopeless with saving money, I finally had just over 4 million, I go into the online dealership and see a M3 GTR and remembering how cool it was in GT4 I could not resist parting with 992k but I must say it is a great car to drive, good grip, good speed and controllable on the edge.

Most people use the birthday glitch to get the jag xk13 and chapparal 2j

i got mine through trades with players that did the birthday glitch

basically make a psn account set you D.O.B to 1970 of todays date log into GT5 recieve your birthday gift ticket for a 1970's car. If it's not the chap back out delte save and try again until you get the chap 2j. save add you real psn account as a friend log into real account accept friends request, log into fake account send car over rinse and repeat as neccesary. some people can do it once every 34 minutes and are making millions trading cars with other users

Escudo, R390 Road, CLK-GT, 5+ JGTC cars, a few N1 touring cars, X1, FGT, 3 x Impreza WRC, Evo WRC, Starion Rally, Delta HF Rally, 2 x Cusco Impreza, CZ3 Tarmac Rally Concept, Focus WRC, M3 GTR road and race (before the whats put it in the online dealership!).
No cheats, no cloning or birthday tricks. Over 200 cars, properly earned, not to mention a few given away, without cloning.

Seems to me those who indulge in such practices are often not as good when it comes to online racing. GT5 can be a valuable learning tool, it can teach you how to drive at the edge. You want to be good? Don't use any tricks. Watch this video then practice, practice, practice.

Switch TC off. You have TC on, if you get your line wrong out of a corner, rather than spin out, TC just holds you back, reduces torque.
TC off, you spin out, you know not to go there again, so you'll learn the proper line and be able to get out of the corner quick.

I agree completely, and I'm quite jealous of your car collection :( I suspect I've got cars from trading with people who might "cheat" but I've not done so myself, so I'm not too fussed, so long as they suddenly don't disappear if PD cracks down on it

Having the TC off makes everything more fun, endurance races are boring unless you jump in a ZR1 turn everything off and turn it into a 200 lap drifting challenge :D

I can't wait to get my PS3 back and do some A spec for the first time in months :( (Yes I've mostly done B spec recently :o )

Have to say that after the orginal downer that the game is when you first play it due to dev time and issues, it does grow on you fast. 1st gt game that has acutally done the driving better than the visuals.
Anyways is the classic champ on expert b spec only doable with the toyota 7?

First race was fine 2nd race i cant win with the toyota 7 my best is 2nd, by 0.5 secs the 2J car wins everytime with me

2J car is 15 mill on the marketplace atm unless you know someone who can lend you it.

pseud0 im after the ZJ too before it dissapears, tempted to grind the oval tracks for it, only have 7 mil and like you dont want to resort to loans/duping :p

My guys didn't have trouble with any of these races, NASCAR was trouble but not impossible  They used the Toyota 7 with a mahoozive turbo :D

I put the middle turbo on my T7, and geared it for about 160mph, and my b-spec won by about half a lap.
