Pc gaming comes to consoles?

I don't see a problem here. If Sony/MS consider it cheating they can just stop the adapters from working.

Besides, you can't really compare it to hacking - hacking gets you banned and this doesn't, so clearly somebody is condoning this :)

If you read up on these device, the newer ones work by hijacking onto an official controller and connecting to the console through it.

That way there's no easy way to tell the difference between a regular controller and one of these devices hooked into a regular controller.

Seems like a lot of effort for something that's condoned. ;)

Its pretty much like those lag switch things, hard for MS/sony to do anything about them.

But then they haven't said or done anything about it either, have they?

ask a lot on here :D

might not be that much but a best part of a grand for a decent gaming pc versus 200 for a console.

Go and spread your incorrect information elsewhere.

Can build a gaming PC that'll out do a PS3/360 for £300-400 and do much more than play games/limited media playback

There's not much they can do though is there? I can't imagine they have any power to force a ban on the sale of these things and if they can't detect them, they can't even dish out live bans.

Combine that with the fact these things are generally massively unpopular due to being crap or expensive (or both), they're not exactly a priority issue for Sony or MS.

It's not a laugh getting thrashed by someone who has a ridiculous advantage over you though, In my opinion if you carnt play fair dont play Multiplayer at all but thats just me.

People need to stop getting arsey on the subject because its annoying, The device is their people will use it. I guess im a cheat because i have 7.1 surround sound system and can hear everyone around me much like having a steering wheel. I play the pc mainly and come top most times. Not being big headed im just very competitive and practice a lot. Im talking about cod also. BFBC2 is a different matter lol i get my arse handed to me a lot on that.

Actually I've heard it talked about off the cuff on podcasts with MS staff and they're certainly not condoning it.

Tbh though, do you not think if they made an official announcement saying "These are bad M'kay! We can't do anything about them yet, but they're bad!" it would just encourage a bunch of people that hadn't heard about them to go out and try them. ;)

Steering wheels and surround sound are officially supported though? I'm not really sure how a comparison can be drawn between them.

same as always on here :D

Margaret yes i know you can but a console in general three to four times cheaper than a decent gaming rig with alll your gubbings in.

take your 400 quid pc then you need a monitor mouse keyboard op system it aint 400 quid then ;)

i like pc better but the games are getting so much more comsolized for "us" pc nabs that i thought id start playing on console again.

thats not misimformation thats straight truth.

like i said earlier name a list of big pc only games out in the last two years :) youll struggle cause most have been ports and the whole reason these console vs pc debates are starting to appear a lot more often.

for a pure gaming machine the console is winning and in the end will win .

Pretty sure a console will need a TV to go with it, additional controllers, that HDMI cable they never seem to include, online memberships, etc etc as well.

Obviously most people already have a TV already, but I certainly don't upgrade my monitor every time I upgrade my PC either.

It's a pretty vague question... Is this just FPS games? Either way I'm pretty sure I could name some.

I'm not even sure how it affects the argument though? Why not just practice with a pad if you want to play on console?

Consoles are great machines, that doesnt mean they should be used with keyboard/mouse then they'll just be mini-PC's and defies the whole idea of console gaming.

I doubt the next gen consoles will have mouse/keyboard support for games either but time will tell.

At the end of the day it comes down to opinion, i think its wrong to use keyboard and mouse on a console and gives you a serious advantage over others, you dont.

So go for it, i would just try avoid people who use kb/mouse. ^^

I think i can see where the reality is now...

...the people who defend using mouse/keyboard on console games are just absolutely **** at pc gaming and need the gigantic advantage over controllers to do well?

Seriously have any of you even watched a console being played? While i'm playing Bad Company 2 on PC my gfs brother is sometimes playing Halo Reach or Bad Company (original) on the Xbox360 just next to me and the difference between reactions and aiming is absolutely laughable. Attach to that something capable of emulating the BC2 experience which involves very fast reactions and (hopefully) good and quick accuracy on top of auto aim and you've got something near enough an aimbot. That is a gigantic advantage over regular players and frankly i would be pretty ****ed if it started to become a regular occurance.

I don't doubt its too small an issue to be worth bothering with atm. If it did become a bigger problem then i'm pretty sure MS/Sony would react to something that could potentially lose them large sums of money because people just don't want to play games they can't possibly compete in.

what does that have to do with wanting to use hacks ? the game developers have not included mouse support in there.
the products are not officially supported and they have had to hack into the consoles to allow use of them, fooling them into believing a user is using a joypad to aim when he isn't.

Reads title, looks at link.

/facepalm

I don't consider the mouse+keyboard end all be all of PC gaming. Even if you forced me to use a controller only I'd still be a PC Gamer :p

no its fooling the console to get a keyboard to work and mouse big difference. people are going on like its everyone is going to be cheating lol

if they turn out to do very well the console owners will have no choice to add a port for keyboard and mice.

the thing is a console would be better with the support. we all know that . at least you have the choice and this is giving you a choice to use it now.

if you dont like it dont get them but thats your choice.

That's not going to happen, it's just too big a gulf in ability. Microsoft tried PC vs 360 and canned it because the 360 players just got destroyed so comprehensively.

I can't see them adding full KB&M support to a console as it creates huge problems in skill gulfs and means they either have to let one set of players get whooped by the others or segregate them, something they'll not want to do. Equally, they won't want to have to supply a KB&M with every unit to get past this.

Its cheating plain & simple the players gets an unfair advantage. Mouse+KB is why MS are not interested in cross platform gaming between PC vs 360 as the PC player wins everytime so a bit pointless really.

Console gaming would like to become like the PC but its not going to happen for a long time if ever.......

Sure some console games are ok & have their place in gaming but PC pretty much owns all gaming nowadays its just not easy pickings as PC gamers are less likely to buy poor games whereas on the consoles many games are poor but they get accepted & sell well because what else do they exist for...............

its comedy gold :D

you have to be bad cause i want to use a keyboard on a console get a grip lols

but thats clearly the case with you, like you said yourself your a PC gamer too and like YOU said most PC games are console ports.... so question is why would you spend 100 and odd quid for something you already have.

Simple answer is you want a huge advantage over other people because you cant cope with playing fairly.
