Pc gaming comes to consoles?

Ok if you say so. Opinions count try not to blow things up like a lot on here do.

I'm not saying that no pad player isn't ever going to beat a M+K player, map knowledge, tactics and a lot of other matters come into it, but when you consider just input method vs input method. M+K are going to come out on top in the majority of cases.

Don't just take my word for it though. ;)

...during the development they brought together the best console gamers to play mediocre PC gamers at the same game... and guess what happened? They pitted console gamers with their "console" controller, against PC gamers with their keyboard and mouse.

The console players got destroyed every time...

I'm sorry unless I missed it, and I have never looked, so could easily have MS as far as I know have not said its against there rules to use it, if it is then I would not bother getting one.

Added

Just had a quick google, and while MS for the original Xbox forbade it they never blocked it on the 360 so it seems it is allowed.

Added, I did not think there were bots or cheats for the xbox, I really do not follow xbox gaming in any way as I'm rubbish with the pad.

So its not cheating plain & simple no matter how many times people wanna bleat about it.

and that folks is my last comment on this ever ...NN all :)

Cheating.... violating accepted standards or rules; "a dirty fighter"; "used foul means to gain power"; "used unfair methods";"took an unfair advantage".
No matter what you think it is cheating simple, by all means use it in single player games but if you cant play fairly and like everyone else online then stay away from multiplayer games, they are for competing players and there is no competition what so ever when you are using KB & Mouse vs Controller.

Microsoft have not supported this, they also havent broadcasted it over the worldwide web that they are against the rules because that would probably incite people who dont know they exist to look into buying one. I think it will be pretty obvious to report people who are using KB & Mouse because you move in a completely different way than you do with a joypad.

Would you class someone using an arcade stick in an online fighting game, against someone with a 360 controller, cheating as well then ?

Or how about when the add move support to certain PS3 titles ? That'll allow for more precise aiming than 2 analogue sticks.

These kind of adaptors aren't going to go away, so it would be better for them to have a unique hardware id so games can detect when it's being used & disable auto-aiming.

Thats the difference, move is SUPPORTED, these adapters are not and have to fool the the console into thinking they are something else, also i cant see move giving you ANY advantage at all, more of a disadvantage since it sucks in FPS, Racing and probably fighting games too which are probably the only competetive multiplayer games.

Hopefully Microsoft/sony will crack down on it, which if it gets overly popular im sure they will target the company who makes then aswell as its customers, maybe they will bring something that detects a change in hardware and ban these users.

But brick... wall comes to mind, some people obviously cant see it how most people do, these are usually the types who will exploit bugs already existent in games to rank up instantly etc and i wouldnt be surprised if a few of you have gone all out and downloaded hacks.

Probably the last thing i'll say on the subject

Ive seen the reports but i have seen padders win. If you take a a k+m who is not so great i know a few against a good padder they can win regular. The only thing that makes using a k+m on the console is the auto aim which is could be turned off would be a great thing. That for me is the killer.

You only have to look at the success of the Wii, and now Kinect on the 360, and the millions of console gamers who love nothing more than furiously throwing their limbs about erratically to crummy titles, and then people question why kb/mouse support for console games is pretty much non-existent and hasn't been done sooner? Probably has something to do with the fact that commercially it has fail written on it.

If you've ever had the pleasure of being on Live / PSN & listened to the hormonal screaming kiddies spouting death threats, etc... you'd think their life depended on it.

1. No. An arcade stick is more a choice of comfort than it making you better at the game. There's plenty of high level pad players that rank high in fighting game tournaments.

2. I've played Killzone 3 with Move support, it was horrible.

You need to work on your arguments. :)

1. The 360 dpad cant compare to an arcade stick for fighting games = advantage to arcade stick user.

2. Maybe you just weren't very good with it ? :)

The k+m is a choice of comfort also lol.

because using an officially supported peripheral is the same as using something that hacks the system and fools it into believing it's an official joypad is the same thing ?

Better example would be those who used flight sticks in BF2 for Jets and choppers, v.s. those who stuck to M+K. M+K was no match for someone using a flight stick in a dog fight, never will be.

yeah that was pretty bad too lol, but still it was a supported piece of kit. this is 10x worse in my opinion.

Plane or no, its a small part of BF2. Aiming *is* an FPS game and having a 100 fold advantage over all your opponents in the aiming department because you hacked a KB+M onto the game to let you beat controller players is just sad. Whats more sad is that you feel you can justify it as legitimate...

So many times while playing Halo Reach I've known with all certainty that had I been using KB+M I would have won certain firefights/shootouts and that I would get far more kills and sprees.

As nice as it is, I find the Xbox controller really lacking sensitivity and precision for FPS games, but I certainly wouldn't buy this addon because it is obviously cheating.
It would give the player a massive advantage against those using the pad, not fair at all.
