Have you ever been mugged?

In fact, a mate was at his flat one night in Lamesley and there was a knock at the door. His house mate went to answer it and was met by a dude with a machete.
No one was hurt, not sure if anything was stolen.

My mates house mate moved out that night. Luckily my mate has another flat now.

Abducted, what happend?

Long story short, on the way to College with a mate...

  • Crazy drugged up guy with knife/gun wants us to help him find drug dealers at College so he can find and kill them and take their stash.

  • He then told us that we had to go in to Littlehampton to help him break into a Woolsworth warehouse so that he can steal loads of stuff there.

  • We got in a taxi and we got to some train gates. As soon as they went up and that taxi just started to move, we jumped out and ran. We jumped over about 5 fences till we found one with someone in it and asked them to call the police.
There's more too it and it doesn't sound that bad, but trust me - it was the most scariest moment in my life.

Got a good kicking a year or two back. £10 and my old phone just isn't worth getting stabbed for, though I don't know why I deserved the kicking.

I've been at the receiving end of quite a few assaults, spittings, intimidation and attempted muggings during my time, but only one "successful" one when I was (I believe) 16 or 17, in Belfast City Center.

Couple of mates and I were out at a few bars. Were refused our local as the doorman felt he would be an arse that night, so we went round to a local nightclub. It wasn't very lively, so we decided we'd head to around the Cathedral area to smoke a bit of a joint and wait for my sister to get out of her own club and drive us home.

Anyway, as we arrived to our destination, it was already occupied by a group of chavs - 3 blokes, I think, ranging from what must have been 11 to 19 (the ringleader), and a few girls.

Anyway, as we approach it's plainly obvious to see and smell that they're glue-baggers and pretty well off their nads. They start asking for some change for the pay-phone to ring a taxi.

I respond, "Sorry, haven't got any change." The younger one reacts to this by turning to the ringleader and repeatedly, and excitedly, exclaiming "Here, he's got notes! He's got notes!" At that point I knew things weren't going to go well, so while my mates gave their own excuses, I discretely fed all notes from my wallet, out of my pocket, and down into my boxers without being seen. I just kept hoping they'd stay in my boxers and not fall down my trouser legs!

So, as we walk on, a couple of the girls (the most hideous creatures I've ever seen) are on their way back to the group. One of them, glue-bagged out of her mind, leans in towards my friend and just kind of goes "eeuuuuuuurrghghghhahah" before moving on.

Cue one of the males exclaiming that my friend had pushed her. That's when **** kicked off.

I was ready to just get out of there, but my friends being the idiots they are stopped and were easily surrounded. One of my mates had a folding/locking knife that he was given as a gift by someone else earlier in the day. As he was patted down, he allowed this to be taken off him like a retard.

My other friend received a swift smack in the face, despite wearing glasses. I was having a rather placid chat with one of them, actually (I can be quite the affable bloke), before the youngest sucker-punched me from the side, completely unprovoked, and chipped my tooth. The one I was talking to then chastised the youngster as I was, apparently "allreet".

At this point, my friend who had the knife removed from him by the ringleader was given a haymaker and instantly collapsed. With no target at that moment, the ringleader came over to me, put his arm around my chest, and put the knife to my throat; accusing us of being drug dealers (it's just a good thing they didn't find my friend's weed!).

While we attempted to talk our way out of it, the knife was repeatedly dragged across my neck as I convinced them that my watch and other possessions were worthless (which they were :p). The knife appeared to be quite blunt, or he wasn't putting much force into it, but you can appreciate at the time that it was rather scary.

Now, one of them shows me a plaster on his hand and repeatedly asks "do you want to see this?". I say I'm not sure what he's on about, so he removes the plaster revealing "LVF" on his hand, between the thumb and index finger. It looks like he wrote it on with marker 10 minutes ago, so I laugh.

Now, my wallet is removed from my pocket and all change emptied from it (I lied -- I had about 13 quid in pound coins. Nooooo!), before they proclaim that someone they're waiting to meet will be there soon. The way they speak of him, it sounds like their local "commander", so to speak. Within a couple of minutes, one of the girls shouts -- the dude is here, so they let us start walking.

From behind us, after greeting their accomplice, they then shout "You've got 5 seconds to run."

I replied "Wise up!", and just then, a friend who was having a party in his apartment in the building we were outside of shows up, walking a girl home. We join him, and they decide that with 4 of us it's too much, so they skulk off in the opposite direction.

We then just grabbed a taxi home, which I had to pay for having been the only one smart enough to stuff his money in his underpants!

What was more annoying, was that in the early stages of the mugging, just before they actually began to get highly threatening, an RUC meat wagon drove past us. The chavs cheered and jeered at it, and they didn't even slow down.

Anyhoo, since that day I've vowed NEVER to react like a victim in that way. I can tell when things aren't kosher, and it doesn't pay to be amicable or submissive with them. Two years later I was walking through a subway on the way to work (Pizza Hut in the Odyssey at the time -- I was a uni student by then) and was again accosted by a glue-bagger who looked about 18, accompanied by another who literally looked about 10 (I almost felt sorry for that kid) and some chavette around 15. The eldest stood in front of me as I walked, repeatedly screaming "GET THE MONEY OUT! GET THE MONEY OUT!". I shouldered past him, he kicked me in the side, and I landed a 100% knucklefeast smack in the center of his face. Down like a ton of bricks would be an understatement. Of course, I guess it only worked because he could barely stand in the first place!

Been 'mugged' a few times. Twice in Sunderland when I was at Uni there, was walking back over a bridge that had a subway section at the end and a group of chavs asked me for a smoke, told them I didn't smoke (Even though I did) and they beat me up and nicked my tabs anyway although they strangely left my wallet  About a month later exactly the same place and same thing happened again, this time when they asked for a smoke, I said sure and gave them the packet of tabs and said keep them, they still beat me up for a laugh :(

I also had a guy try to nick my bag when I was waiting in Newcastle train station, it was one of them mini rucksack thingies and I was sat on a bench with only one arm through one of the straps, guy sits next to me and grabs the other strap and runs off, dragging me along with him. Managed to get free and chased after him and then there was a curious moment where he just stopped and turned on me, I changed my mind about going after him and ran as fast as I could to the British Transport Police room banging on it like crazy, but the guy had just ran off again.

Luckily I wasn't seriously hurt in any of the incidents, I did once get knocked clean out on the way home from a night out, there was just me and my mate doing the drunken walk home and one second my mate was next to me chatting away the next he wasn't there, I looked back to see two lads throwing puches at him, for a split second I thought about running away but realised I couldn't leave my mate like that so walked towards them telling them to leave my mate alone, they both ran up and belted the stuffing out of me, all I remember is coming to and realising I was lying on the road bleeding everywhere, turns out that one of them had punched me so hard it knocked me out and I fell into the road and a car stopped inches away from squishing me. Still have a lump in my head from one of the rings one of them was wearing.

Yes I have.

15 vs 4 and was like 15/16 years old at the time, stole my PAYG phone.

Love it when these threads surface. You can always find the "I once drank 15 pints, pulled Michelle Keegan and got jumped by 5 cage fighters; they came off worse" stories.

In fact, where's fish-finger sandwich boy and his stories of epic chivalry?

I write in hypothetical viewpoints and stuff.. I have stories but nothing that exiting regarding this topic at least.

A chinese guy nicked a pack of fags I had sitting out when I was bowling once. When I went to confront him he didn't speak english, or at least pretended not to.

He did me a favour though actually because I found out later that day my gf was pregnant so I never smoked again after that.

I was mugged, I bought Call of Duty: Black Ops....fnar fnar....

Actually, I was kinda mugged.

Story goes a little something like this.

I was walking home from work one evening, and a chap overhears me having a conversation on the blower, he asks if I am after a cheap Xbox or anything. Me, being the guy I am, stopped and got chatting, he seemed...OK...a ****head but OK. He asked me to fill his water bottle up, so I did. But that is when it got wierd. The chap kept shadowing me everywhere, he showed me his flat, and gave me his number. I kept making excuses to leave, he was having none of it. Eventually, at a petrol station, where I stopped to buy some fags, I had to get my wallet out, cue having about £300 in my wallet, my iPod touch and Blackberry on me, he wasn't interested in them. He just wanted my number, I tried to knock him off the scent, but he was getting edgy, saying I would be on the end of a 1-2-3 if I didn't give it him. So I gave hime my number. Managed to get away by knowing the area and jumping some fences/walls. Got home and started recieving death threats and what not of the guy. Next morning I was woken by him and his mate at my door. He was ordering me to pay him £30 for the troubles of the night. I agreed, as he said his cousin was in a van, and had a shotgun. So, I get to the cash machine, and he wants £40 now, but hes on the blower with me. So I get £50 out, £10 for myself, even though I still had about £300 in my arse pocket. The guy appears and wants his 'readdies', he starts sounding like a cokney, and says he has a shotgun in his trousers, in broad daylight, at 8.30am, outside a shop along the school run. Now was my chance, he took the money, walked away, promised I would never see him again. Wrong move mate, I saw there was nothing on him, and no van in sight, I went over to him, tripped him, and stood on his throat. He had a look of sheer panic, he just wasn't expecting it. He left with my money, as it was only £40, allthough I donn't understand if he wanted it that bad, why didn't he rob the night before? He also left with a battered ego, and couple of bruises as I was pulled of him.

Never seen the guy since, his flat hasn't been lived in since that night. Odd.

A few incidents here and there but one that sticks in mind a long time ago, I'll try and make it as short as possible:

Age 18, 1997 been out raving with a mate in Worthing - Attacked whilst walking to Goring train station at 5am by 3 blokes, smacked in the head and one pulls a knife - we leg it. Flag down a car further up the road which is full to the brim with pilled up kiddies.

Whilst frantically trying to explain our situation and jump in the car the blokes catch us up, make up some story about us trying to rob them - the driver of the car (understandably) doesn't want to get involved, drives off, leaving us with our attackers who clearly have a large knife. One mouthy **** starts squaring up to me and smacks me in the head, I head butt him to the floor before running off in a different direction to my mate.

Now, I'm quite a fast runner (at least I was back then), so I sped off and hid underneath a caravan on someones drive. I had no idea if they had seen me or what, I just lay there, still. Then a few minutes later I saw all three go running past and in the opposite direction two police cars and an ambulance. Luckily my mate had managed to wake up a house, who had let him in and aparently the blokes had run after him and been smacking on the door until they realised the police were on thier way - unbelievable, over nothing at all.

The more i think about it the more i have had happen to me,
I was cycling down a ally way when i was 15 with a amte of mine, group of drunks at the end of said ally way, my friend rides on like not a care in the world as i get there one hits me square on the side of my head, im off the bike and hes kicking me! his mates drag him off and i get on my bike and cycle off! thought i had landed in a puddle but my head wasnt wet.....it was blood, that was a fun night having a shower and just seeing the water run red.

Also walking home after a night out young guy asks my friend for a cig he says **** off as my friend is quite a big bloke, said chav pulls a knife......friend and i leg it but not after they chase us throwing plant pots.

ahhhh the joys of Woking.

A few years ago (almsot 10 now) me and a few mates were at the Ikea in Croydon (near the cinema) when 3 little ***** brats jumped us. Luckily we got rescued by a guy who was a rugby player (The sort who eats Humvees for a snack and shaves with a lawnmower) who happened to be passing by for the next film showing. After grappling one by the next with a hand the size of a wrecking ball they soon scarpered :D

I genuinely cant believe how many people on here have been mugged. I lived in West Bowling and then just outside Ravenscliffe (People from bradford will understand) and I have never been mugged. I'm 6ft and 13 stone now but until I was about 19 I had no size to me whatsoever.

:o Genuine shock

I was mugged in Bradord. December 2002 on Manchester Road. Precisely right here. I was about 13 years old, waiting for the bus to get into town. A dark, December evening. There were 3 other people at the bus stop. The school librarian and 2 other students. (school was just across the road). As the bus pulled in, two Asian guys ran up from behind, probably about 19, 20 years old and blocked my way from getting onto the bus while the other people got on. Bus was rammed, everybody watched this happen.

One of them held me down while the other one tried to grab as much stuff as possible out of my pockets. I was literally shouting for help and i remember looking at everyone on the bus, just staring in awe while I struggled. I was frightful about what they would do to me...stab me maybe?

After about 30 seconds, they'd got all of my stuff. Bus driver just looked at me and said 'are you alright?' I felt angry that nothing was done. Went to the police station straight away. Saw the police come into school the following day to question the librarian.

Being mugged was really awful, sympathies to others who have to go through the same ordeal.
