Escort RS Turbo... :D

I jest. Anyway, what do you class as fairly quick? Have you looked at 182's? Accord Type R? Are these too quick?

Maybe just a Focus 2.0?

Guys I know we all have opinions on his other threads but this one so far is a perfectly reasonable question which deserves a perfectly reasonable answer.

I concur.

OP, what do you class as fairly quick?

Erm... 0-60 sub 8 seconds. Or can be slower but must be fun.

I have my eye on a show mini for £4k - 650miles 998cc no engine mods.

Well, something like a Ford Focus 2.0 sounds ideal then. Or perhaps a Golf 1.8t if you don't like the looks of the Focii.

The thing with "show mini's" is you must be a raging fanboy to spend £4k on one and to bare driving one. For non raging fanboy's, the Focus/Golf is a much better balance.

I did agree with this

I no longer agree.

£500 Pug 306 Diesel is what you need it will get you around and cost not a lot to run. Anything else is a luxury that needs to be earnt.

You couldnt drive a 'Show Mini' with 650 miles on it - its only a show mini becuase it has 650 miles on it, start using it and it's lost its appeal. It's the sort of thing you trailer to shows.

Yes, but i don't want to show it, i want to use it 70 miles a week. It will be kept in my garage and there to have fun with it.

So why do it with a 650 mile Mini? You can't use a Mini as a daily driver and keep it on 'as new' condition, they were just made well enough. A 650 mile Mini is special because it's a 650 mile Mini.
