Screw builders, i hate PLUMBERS...

Had a minor flood in the loft was pretty nasty dripping all the way through 2 walls into the kitchen.

call the bloke at 10am, "yeah ill be there in 1h" wow ok!
4 calls later "are you coming or what?"
He turns up at 7pm, "yeah sorry been really busy"
Much Umming and Arring "Thats £250 quid + VAT"
Fixes leak, replaces 2 foot of crappy plastic pipes(thanks dolphin bathrooms you HIQH quality material using scum) with copper pipe.
Takes about 15 minutes... nice.. that's what 1000 pounds an hour ?
Its not like you can say "nah mates your a rip off merchant" when its raining in your Kitchen.

You're lucky, when we had builders next door, they reversed a JCB into my car, ruined the driveway, ripped the alleyway gate off it's hinges, destroyed a neighbours fence, smashed at least 3 windows in other neighbours houses, parked their plant machinery on my driveway, blocked my car in or out as they saw fit and regularly let themselves into my garden to use my hose without permission.

Builders generally don't give a **** about the house they're working on let alone the neighbours so your best course of action is to look forward to the day they **** off somewhere else to make another persons life a misery.

I had a plumber in in December, he was hopeless. He figured that the leak was caused by a bloackage in the outside pipe and a bit of chemicals would fix it. Me and my neighbour disagreed, so took apart one of the walls finding an open pipe in the cavity. The plumber never even considered having a look in the walls, he was hopeless. Was here for over an hour, umming and ahhing. Had to phone his boss twice to ask what to do. Didn't bill us for anything though.

yeah i know but he was there for only 15mins replaced the pipe with copper and looked like he done a good job?.

i dont get people who moan about plumbers ,builders , most people dont have a clue when it comes to this sort of thing , i understand that there are some that are complete useless though!
 
I just feel so violated by tradesmen.

Called the insurance company need to get the Kitchen ceiling re-plastered/boarded etc. They want 2 quotes, fair enough.

Mate of my sister is a plaster, he quotes me 600 quid Not mates rates i tell him its an insurance claim so you charge what you need.

Second plasterer "Oh insurance job is it ? Right then well i need to do an asbestos pre-check (£250 quid rofl) You will need such and such, electrical checks blah blah. Total £1400 ...... Fiddling Lieing cheating scum bags..

I have no qualms getting the insurance to finally pay something back (and milk it) but this guys attitude was just typical i find.
