January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

Tombstone, whether Torres ends up staying or not, I feel more than comfortable to say that Torres certainly has informed the club he wants to leave.

I dont, I still havent seen anything official to prove that and until I get categorical 100% proof then I will believe its all just papertalk. I can guess and second guess , but I cannot know without proof.

Baz you're right about the rebuilding thing.

This Is so sodding sickening, that's it I'm now a devout catholic and praying he stays, this season and next. What a looneybin iam

If he is wanting to play in the EPL and for us weather Torres is their shouldnt matter if he doesnt sign himself and says "well Torres is of so i wont bother" it wont do him any good for trying to sign for another club nor will it please ajax imo.

The timing of this by Torres (if true ) will be the main thing I'll never forgive.

But is he really that thick to go to a team that are on a downward spiral and horrendous squad??
Tombstone more reassurance please =[

Dont worry, you'll get plenty of reassurance when the transfer window ends and he is still a Liverpool player, then you can point and laugh at all the people insisting he was going and gloat over how wrong they were ;)

Indeed it is but its a whopping £60 million they offered.

I know it's bs. But there are some decent journos.

When the Times broke the story last night they said there was no indication from Torres whether he wanted to leave, this morning it's reported he would like to go and the Times have changed their tune and are reporting the same now.

The likes of Tony Barrett have no reason to lie when they say the club have confirmed it and just like with the bid last night, I'm sure the club will announce Torres's decision sometime tomorrow morning too.

That's not to say he'll certainly leave though.

Problem is Suarez hasn't agreed personal terms yet(that we know of) so will this change his decision? I hope not. - Was posted by aidan444

That was my answer "If he is wanting to play in the EPL and for us weather Torres is their shouldnt matter if he doesnt sign and says "well Torres is of so i wont bother" it wont do him any good for trying to sign for another club nor will it please ajax imo."

This is all based on fact Torres is leaving which i doubt no direct quotes from him at all as of yet

Decent Journos or not, they all have 1 single goal , which is to write headlines and sell stories. Torres wanting to leave for Chelsea is just a story which sells. Thats the reason to lie, or perhaps thats a touch unfair and strong a word, not lie...but to readily and rapidly accept "info" as gospel.

I stand by my conviction that Torres hasnt asked to leave and will not leave in the transfer window.

Poulsen I don't rate, Lucas though , has at times been very good and at other times been very poor, but he is still youngish for a DM and I think would be a decent squad player.

Lucas isn't a DM though. He's a box to box midfielder, Adam style, who barely gets to play as forward as he'd like because Liverpool have Gerrard and now (and increasingly) Meireles there. Lucas just has to fit in.

To be fair though, I think he's looking far better now than he was under Benitez. I'd argue that before Meireles hit his run of form that Lucas was one of Liverpool's best players this season, if not the best.

Still, is it just me, or do Liverpool need width? Kuyt doesn't provide anything beyond effort (which is commendable, but he seldom provides anything positive), Maxi has been... well... average-to-OK and again lacking that ability to provide opportunities, and Joe Cole, who can play wide at a push, has been an expensive flop even in his favoured position.

I grant that Liverpool need a bit more depth up front (especially now Babel has left), but you're not going to score if you can't get the ball up front in the first place, and I feel that's where they've been lacking in the past year and a half.

I hope you're right but I suspect we will have some sort of announcement from the club in the morning saying otherwise.

I retain some hope that he won't leave this window though.

I quite like Lucas, I don't see him as a Defensive midfielder either and think he's better going forward then he is defending (not seen as much of him as the L'pool fans though), but thought he's done well considering he's playing deeper and a role that's not his natural game :)

Wouldn't be in a rush to get rid of him.

Personally I think we need a winger, a DM, a CB and a LB to be a complete team.

N'Zogbia, Coentrao, Mertesacker and Adam would be alright. :D

One thing is for certain, their agent would be a happy bunny. He is after all, Suarez AND Torres agent..so he gets a nice cut by getting his client Suarez to sign for Liverpool and then gets a second nice cut by gettig his other client Torres to sign away from Liverpool :D
