Not suprising, the police will close ranks and do everything they can to protect one of their own in situations like this, any other driver would be looking at a dangerous driving charge and most likely imprisonment.

The victim should count himself lucky he isnt having to pay the police compo for damage to police property by getting in the way of one of the half trained chimps they laughably refer to as "police officers" these days.

Jeez, nightmare indeed :(

Just checked the last page of the thread and its seems that things are moving on, with the copper who investigated the accident being sacked, but his wife has gone and done the dirty on him:

Hi Guys,

Im sorry for not posting an update recently but my lifes been turned inside out and upside down.

Regarding Nottinghamshire police, the Sgt who investigated the accident had been lying to me from day one. I was priveleged to be invited to his misconduct trial in front of all the Police nobility. He was fired on 3 counts of misconduct.

My injuries are as good as they can be so at least i can concentrate on the future. The insurance claim is moving slowly with the police still denying any wrong doing. We have issued proceedings and as far as I know there has been no counter claim in the allowed 14 day timescale.

My personal life is a mess. I have discovered my wife has been having an affair for the last few months. She blames me and the accident saying she married me to be a wife not a nurse. This is devastating and the hardest thing is I didn't even see it coming.

If there are any activities in my area please let me know as my 996 is washed, waxed and ready to go. I could do with a distraction while the divorce goes through.

'waited until the car had passed by, checked his mirror and set off again but within seconds he was involved in an horrific smash when another police car slammed into his Porsche Carrera'

Seems to me like he pulled out in front of the second Police car.

Written off 911, consigned to a wheel chair, police cover up, wife cheats as a result and now a divorce.

I have no words :(

...Seems to me like he pulled out in front of the second Police car.
...which apparently didn't have its flashing lights on. I imagine he saw a car behind in his mirrors, but assumed it was travelling within the speed limit and therefore pulled out thinking there was enough space.

Considering one Police car had just gone by, had he looked in his mirror and seen another one, it would be reasonable to expect it to be travelling at speed also.

In fact upon further reading, he was turning right onto another road, so clearly didnt check his mirrors IMO. I would hazard a guess he wasnt indicating, so the Police vehicle thought he was slowing down to allow it to pass.

He obviously did not check his mirrors properly or he would have seen the Police car whether it had Blues on or not, I'm no fan of the Police but the Advanced Driver who also rides Motorbikes so is 'really safe' is clearly not as safe as he liked to think or he wouldn't have pulled out into the path of the Police car.

Edit I went to read it again and noticed there's photos at the bottom, they didn't load earlier.. It doesn't look like speed was a factor from the damage to the Police car, it's just the Porsche got hit in just about the worst possible place to get hit to cause injuries.

Shows how easily one minute you can have it all (family and a porsche) and the next you can have nothing. Ironic that the Police took it away from him.

would be interesting to see the lay out of the road. if the police car was there to be involved in teh collision it was there to be seen. seems like he pulled into the path of a pssing car, without knowing more.

One rule for us, one rule for them

OMG that's terrible :(.

Over 3 years after wrecking the poor bloke's life the police haven't even had the decency to hold up their hands and admit fault .

Same, may have been a bend in the road a little way back so a car travelling at normal/legal speed would have been able to stop in time had he pulled out when it was clear but a police car travelling at speed without sirens/lights wouldn't.

However, we don't know the details so all speculation.

I guess she must have missed out the "In sickness and in health" part of their vows :(.

indeed

makes my blood boil. Almost as much as the woman who sued her ex husband for 3 million of his lottery win that he won 2 years after she left him.
