That beige and the wood do look rather nasty, but it's good VFM if you can live with it.
The wood can be swapped anyway.
Good VFM? A smacked Cat D 5 year old 3 Series without iDrive for £12k is good VFM?

have i missed a glaringly obvious problem with it?At the moment I'm thinking about changing my FN2 Civic Type R for something a bit different. I love the car, but its ride quality is starting to grate a little and would prefer something with a bit more power as well.
Starting to get a little bored of hot hatches, as I've had a few of them now.
Currently doing around 12k a year, so mpg isnt a massive concern, but don't want to go to Focus ST levels of MPG.
Heres the requirements -
-Budget between £9k and £12k, the lower the better.
-At least 200bhp
-As close to 30mpg as possible. Willing to consider diesel but it's not essential.
-Reasonable maintenance bills.
Any thoughts? I can't really think of anything beyond a 330i at the moment..

that looks pretty nice to mehave i missed a glaringly obvious problem with it?
The fuel economy is vastly different. The Focus ST seems to spray the fuel out of the back of the car as a means of propelling it. The 3.0i engines in the BMWs have been famously frugal. Look at what fox achieves with his and that's coming up to 10 years old!Does not compute. In real terms, i shouldnt imagine the fuel economy to be hugely different.

Ah my mistake, I thought you got high 20s - low 30s.[TW]Fox;18354213 said:19 mpg is my usual average.
Cool go for it. I would expect that on a commute where the focus manages 20mpg, the 3.0i BMW would average 25-27mpg.Lol, how is it vastly different?!
Both posts above mine have agreed with what i said so i stand by my point.
can i ask how? I've never had a tank that low except after an ocuk meet where ive been thrashing it all day.

I think the trouble is, you arent going to find anything that is significantly faster than your Type R that genuinely does 30mpg. ( well, not if you are going to want to use that power anyway)
It is tricky really. What is the most important thing you want out of changing your car?
How about this?
210bhp, Petrol, 39mpg combined... VW EOS 2.0 TSI

Or an A4 2.0T FSI S Line
Less economical than above but still do the business I think
